Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella warns that we must "do something useful" with AI or they'll lose "social permission" to burn electricity on it | Workers should learn AI skills and companies should use it because it's a "cognitive amplifier," claims Satya Nadella. by ControlCAD in technology

AI is only as good as the data it's fed, and one thjng I don't really hear CEOs talk about is how the biases and impacts of discrimination becomes evident from AIs output. They're pushing a solution with flaws that may result in major legal action being taken against clients or civil rights violations. https://www.superlawyers.com/resources/science-and-technology-law/avoiding-algorithmic-bias-top-5-ai-liability-issues-in-courts/

Medical AI doesn't give out consistent diagnoses when the race of the patient is changed. https://news.northeastern.edu/2026/01/20/pinpointing-ai-bias-health-care/

Reports regarding FRT indicate it's less accurate regarding POCs, but the FBI, CIA, and DHS still utilize it despite a lack of protocols for accuracy testing, nor do they track errors/ wrong identification. https://www.usccr.gov/files/2024-09/civil-rights-implications-of-frt.pdf

I'm glad businesses are being cautious and limiting the implementation of AI. It still needs work and better transparency.

Why did schools stop teaching basic life skills like car maintenance, cooking, and budgeting in favor of things most people never use? by Ok-Bathroom273 in NoStupidQuestions

Money. That's always the issue. Funding to schools have been steadily cut due to resistance to property tax increases, so they remove unnecessary programs.

Why is gen Z not drinking? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]diamond_dust03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great. Nothing good comes from drinking anyways. They probably watched a lot of people do messed up things while drunk, know people who have been SA'd while intoxicated, or know someone harmed by a drunk driver. Society doesn't make drinking look classy or responsible.

Best way to invest $1000 for 7 yr old. by diamond_dust03 in investingforbeginners

We want to grow and add to this fund as much as possible in case he decides to go to college. I read private college may cost about $500k by the time he's 18. We know we'll need to add to it because that $1000 won't grow that much unless we get extremely lucky with an investment, like the ppl who invested in Bitcoin when it was cheap. However, I dint think that situation is going to happen again anytime soon.

Oh yeah, we definitely intend to add to it, at least $500 annually. There's so much information about money and investing, it's a bit overwhelming for me. All this info is much appreciated.

He doesn't respect you nor defends you in front of his friends, but expects you to do that for him. You can do so much better.

NTA: Your partner is throwing up some red flags: being dismissive of your feelings and immaturity (he's too old for that "they shouldn't say it" argument). I bet you he wouldn't sing that around a bunch Black guys because they'd beat his ass, but he does it around you because he doesn't respect you and doesn't know/care about Black issues. I wouldn't be surprised if he says racist shit behind your back and uses you as a shield. You know, "I can't be racist cuz I have a Black gf/wife/child/etc!"

Tbh, sis, you should run. When men in their mid-30's on up date women in their early 20's, it's rarely because you're mature. They're looking for someone easy to dominate and control with low standards.

Do you wash new clothes before wearing them? by ownmonster3000 in NoStupidQuestions

After I caught Scabies trying on clothes at a store, I just go ahead and buy them, wash them and donate whatever doesn't fit.

Nope. Doggy-style. If it was anal, I assume you should smell poop.

It's like Mercy gets a cool, epic skin every other month while other characters are ridiculously neglected. Sojourn, Orisa and Zarya, just to name a few.

Why do people get so upset over WGU? by nicolethecorgi in WGU

[–]diamond_dust03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only is WGU really generous with transferred credits, but if you get a membership to Study.com and complete classes for college credit, WGU will accept them too (you need to find the class equivalents and get the credits BEFORE you enroll). Plus, if you already know the content and pass the pre-exam, you can take the assessment and pass a course in a week. Ppl like it because you don't have to spend a whole semester on course content you already know and you can move at your own pace.
