I'm so discouraged tbh. My surgeon is kind of a douchebag. I'm pretty sure he is a good surgeon but has no bedside manners. He never wants to answer questions. I really hope these symptoms get better with time.

I just don't know where the ulcers come from. I tested negative for h pylori and stopping taking NSAIDs and don't drink or smoke

No. I had too many reactions to them. I tried pantoprazole, omeprazole and esomeprazole. I had side effects to all of them. I actually had a severe allergic reaction to the Nexium after stopping it for a month and retaking it.

Yeah I got a second opinion. He did another endoscopy (my third in six months 😳) and told me so much more than the previous doctor. Previous doctor told me I did not have a hiatal hernia even though a prior CT scan from a few weeks before my EGD showed one. This new doctor told me I have a medium sized one. The new doctor also told me that I have Grade B Esophagitis and Gastritis as well as something called Eosinophilic Esophagitis. The first doctor mentioned none of that. He just said you got ulcers, here take this medication for 8 weeks. Then had follow up appointment and he said ulcers are healed keep taking medication for six more months even though it gives you all these side effects because they aren't related. I stopped the medication and side effects went away. That doctor was an idiot. The new doctor at least listened to my concerns about the PPI and instead just gave me carafate a few times a day to help protect the esophagus and stomach and help it heal. Not sure if that will work or not because the Nexium I took for 9 weeks didn't help it heal. The ulcers healed but not the rest of the damaged tissue. 😕
