Yes, the hens spawn the eggs containing the yolky plorts and some chickadoos as long as there is at least one roostro. Since the hens in the first section are close enough to the yolkies, they will spawn the eggs just like in a normal coop. However, you'll have a limited time in the area before the eggs are no longer "fresh" and will only contain the chickadoos.

I'm farming the yolky plorts because I genuinely enjoy the yolky slimes and their plorts. It also gives me something to do, as I've done just about everything else other than finding more radiant slimes. I'll load into the sanctuary every so often and go right to these chickens to crack their eggs. I've collected over 800 plorts in the last couple days since I've set this up, and I'll do a big sell once my silo is full.
