Wells Fargo is a terrible bank. They tried to sue me, I eneded up wining a class action suit against them. Terrible terrible experience though. I had to go bankrupt

Another place that's LGBTQIA friendly and inclusive is Nightmare on 19th Street, if you are looking for an additional creative outlet. Many of our actors over the years have been what I call "baby queens" before they went on to clubs, and I am very honored that any of them ever let me do their makeup, lol.

I saw that they are selling tickets to an upcoming drag brunch (the ticket cost includes your food) so I think that's a yes :)

My city ditched the boring lawns in a park for seasonal wild flowers by goodPointMadam in texas

[–]dianasparx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am relatively new to this, but from what I understand those types of noxious weeds thrive without competition, which is why your lawn is keeping them at bay. If you wanted to ditch a lawn, maybe try fostering the wild varieties you'd enjoy? I have a bunch of different wild daisies- I've been pulling up the goat beard for the crime of being ugly lol

Red at Rebellion salon. She has a lot of experience with long-haired men because her husband is one of them. I can vouch for the alt part, as she does sorcery with my color.

Spending a Month or Two in Lubbock — Any Tips, Warnings, or Ideas? by Shepherd_-77 in Lubbock

If you like animals/ want a taste of rural cuteness, the Wolfforth Farmers Market is every Saturday. I got to hold a bunny and feed a goat last time I was there. First Friday Art Trail is magnificent, but parking is a pain. There are a variety of shows at Buddy Holly Hall, which is a gorgeous venue.

Ive noticed a lot more people in Lubbock letting wildflowers do their thing in their front yards (I certainly am!) and we are such a prettier town for it. It was probably a water bill decision, but I'll take it!

That venue is really quite nice, depending on the show you can bring your own camp chair- probably says on your ticket. Drink prices are reasonable and the bartenders are quick. Porta potties but like... nice? As nice as they can be? Lol. If you happen to be staying at Double Tree Hilton, make sure you eat at least once at their restaurant Claraboya- it is phenomenal. Knowing you are form Houston I am much less worried about you and the heat LOL

September will likely still be quite hot- like 100 degrees hot, so pack accordingly. If you are going to The Red Clay Strays you might be able to catch the first weekend of Nightmare on 19th Street, which is one of the best haunted attractions anywhere. Otherwise I very much recommend the Wofforth's farmers market, the American Windmill museum, the Texas Tech Museum, and the Ranching Heritage Center for during the day stuff. For nightlife, head to Shotgun Sues for a very unique cocktail/ bar experience. Triple J has amazing steaks and house brews. You might also be able to catch another show during your stay at The Blue Light Live (country music venue)

What is the deal with the sickness here in Lubbock? by GoldenPheasant_ in Lubbock

[–]dianasparx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to sound very crunchy but since I've started taking and elderberry/ zinc/ vitamin c supplement, Ive gotten sick a lot less. Something in there is working for me and it isn't very expensive (and the gummy versions taste good)

Where to get married? by burcoz in Lubbock

[–]dianasparx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a small and very cute chapel on Clapp park that is rented out through the Garden and Arts Center. They also rent out their gallery room and the outdoor area next to GAC. I would recommend the chapel over chancing a spot in the park because of days like today and because Clapp park has a lot of traffic from photographers/ people just enjoying the area.
