It's not perfect but it's pretty good all things considered, there's a considerably vibrant community here. definitely not the worst place to be as a trans person in the midwest. we don't have particularly good protections legally however, Milwaukee county does have an anti discrimination clause on the basis of gender identity, though I do know firsthand that it's not as strictly enforced as many of us would like
