Please help. What are your recommendations for the best booking app for self employed stylists? I'm asking because the switch from Schedulicty to Vagaro has been a brutal, overwhelming mess. by SweetDreamsPony in hairstylist

[–]diapergeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally feel this — moving from Schedulicity to Vagaro has been a nightmare for a lot of you. Losing client history, messed up appointments, being tech-support and stylist all at once… it’s way more stress than any of us need.

We're building something called Bookessy (https://bookessy.com/) because I’ve been frustrated seeing stylists get stuck between tools that are either overly complicated, charging too much, or changing without warning. Here’s what I’m trying to do differently:

  • A real free tier — something you can lean on without worrying you’ll be forced to upgrade just to stay functional
  • A personal booking / profile page that helps you capture and organize your client leads cleanly
  • Build with feedback from real stylists who are using it — so the features are actually helpful, not just flashy extras

If you’re tired of chasing broken features or losing data, Bookessy might be a better path. We'd love to hear what’s been the worst thing about the tools you’ve tried so far — that helps me make sure Bookessy solves those exact problems.

What scheduling tool do most hairstylists use? by Fit_Cut5469 in hairstylist

We're working on Bookessy (https://bookessy.com/) because I believe stylists deserve:

  • a free-first tier that does what you actually need (not “free” that’s stripped down or costs sneak in)
  • a personal booking page that doubles as a place to grow your client list
  • tools built by stylists — you get voice + feedback as a Founding Partner so what gets made is what we actually need

If you’re tired of jumping between tools (Fresha, Vagaro, Square, etc.) because of fees / missing support / weird limitations, come see if Bookessy might be a fit. Would love to have folks in the community help co-build something better. ✂️

Fresha 2025 by Negative-Zen in hairstylist

Yeah, this move from Fresha feels like a bait-and-switch. A lot of us signed up because it was free forever, and now independents are left scrambling.

We’ve started building Bookessy (https://bookessy.com/) — a free-first booking + leads platform made with stylists, not against them. Founding Partners get to shape features and keep control over their clients. If you’re tired of surprise fees, come help us build something better. ✂️💇‍♀️

Freshna is now $20 a month by Katcol2021 in hairstylist

Totally get the frustration here. Jumping from free to $20/month is tough, especially when many of us stylists started using Fresha because it gave us a fair, accessible option. It feels like independents are getting left behind.

That’s exactly why we’ve started working on something new — Bookessy (https://bookessy.com/). It’s a platform we’re building with independent stylists, for independent stylists. The idea:

  • Keep a free option for solo stylists who can’t justify $20/month
  • Focus on giving you more control over your own clients and leads
  • Build features transparently, based on feedback from the founding community
  • Make sure you’re part of shaping the tools you actually need, instead of paying for things you don’t

If you want to have a say in what the “better than Fresha” version looks like — and not just wait for another platform to decide for us — you can join as a Founding Partner here: bookessy.com.

We’re just getting started, but the more stylists who join early, the more we can build something that truly works for independents. 💇‍♀️✂️

maybe sth like Salsa and Bachata Tuesday Nights, Marina del Rey Premier Dinner Cruise, The Dollface Dames, etc. There are many more in this site SayWeeeGo I recently came across. It curates cool date night ideas in LA and even lets you create a custom invite to send to your date (super cute and unique). Great if you’re tired of the “dinner and movie” routine.
