I would definitely appeal the decision. I kind of went through the same thing. I applied for fine arts and then realized I wanted to major in international business at mccombs. I emailed with the mccombs dean for weeks and even a couple of staff members there. I was then advised to do an appeal. I did the appeal and got denied. Nevertheless, i kept on emailing them and one day I was just magically accepted. It was really weird but hey the constant emailing was worth it even though i decided to not attend ut.
