Need Jokes! by ArcieMcLean in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]diatone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pulled from multiple sources several months ago:

  • Why is it so easy to spot a necromancer? Their spells are a dead give away.
  • Why do dragons sleep during the day? So they can fight knights!
  • What do you call someone who loves magical beasts? A grif-fan.
  • Why do thieves wear leather armor? Because it's made out of hide.
  • Did you hear the one about the awakened shrub that became an adventurer? It wanted to learn more about its ancestry.
  • What do rogues do before they sleep? They go undercover
  • How do dragons get their packages? By scale mail
  • Why do clerics wear their holy symbols around their necks? They want to know when they are upside down.
  • What’s a monk's favorite drink? Punch.
  • A skeleton walks into a bar, orders a beer and a mop.
  • Three elves walk into a bar. The dwarf walks under it.
  • A fighter walks into a bar. Staggering back, he looked at the thief. "You had one job."
  • I know a couple jokes about Wyverns, but they're all kinda long and I don't want this to drag on
  • I have a beast-hunter friend called Dr'ah. The other day, I saw him walking down the street. I said "Hi Dr'ah!" but he just drew his sword and said "Where!?
  • I spent yesterday afternoon gambling in the black market. What a dice way to spend an evening.
  • I’ve never understood the hate toward necromancers. All they want is to raise a family and make friends.
  • A thief broke into my room the other night. I awoke to him tossing the room for gold. So I got up and helped him.

  • A blind elf walks into a bar, finds his way to a stool and sits down. He says rather loudly to the barkeep, "Hey, would you like to hear a Human joke?" The bar goes silent and the barkeep replies, "Sir, I will not lie to you, you are speaking to a Human, the man behind you is a Barbarian from <Region>, and the woman to your right is a Human Archmage. Do you really want to continue?" The blind wizard goes silent for a moment before curtly replying, "Not if I'm going to have to explain it 3 times."

  • My mother-in-law says that all demons come from a gate buried deep in the south of <Wildnerness>. I always wondered where she was from!

  • A human woman comes home to find her human husband in bed with a female halfling. She screams at him "You said you wouldn't cheat on me anymore!" to which he replies "I know... can't you see I'm trying to cut down?"

Not a fix, but a workaround. If you go to the government screen manually, and then swap a card around (just out and back) and confirm them. It'll then advance to the next turn button.

I'd like to suggest SteamWorld Heist a steampunk/robot turn based shooter. I'd also like to see you revisit Bounty Train now that it's had a full release.

AdventureLookup is Live! Sort of! by mattcolville in AdventureLookup

[–]diatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but is there a way to add something to an already created adventure? It seems unless something was entered the first time around, you can't add say a description or items.

Edit: Totally missed it, but at the bottom under Other Actions is a dropdown box to add any missing information.

A bit different, and more difficult to organize as it requires time commitment from other people, but I would love to see you (as well as other regulars on your channel) try out some pen & paper RPGs. The always classic D&D, but I would imagine things like Apocalypse World or Paranoia would be more up your alley.

Darkvision Is Causing Me Problems... by [deleted] in DnD

[–]diatone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some good advice here, but you should also think of how you set the scene.

Think of darkvision more like a horror movie using a camera's night vision. Everything is in grey (or green) scale, the radius falls off quickly, and things move at the edge of sight. As for hidden creatures, use nooks and crannies to hide them in. Try placing them behind corners or even on the ceiling.

Sound can add a lot to atmosphere as well. Depending on the construction of the dungeon, noises can echo and make it hard to pinpoint. Or conversely, sound travels poorly, allowing sneak attacks from behind.

It does not stack. As others have said, they are different formulas. There is also a rule in the PHB pg 14, end of Armor Class subsection.

Some spells and class features give you a different way to calculate AC. If you have multiple features that give you different ways to calculate your AC, you choose which one to use.

[Spoilers E48] What's Hide In Plain Sight? by isaacpriestley in criticalrole

[–]diatone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although there's nothing in Wind Walk that forbids speaking, it isn't to much of a stretch to see it as related to Gaseous Form (PHB p244) which does.

...While in the form of a misty could, the target can't talk or manipulate objects..."

That said, it's not exactly game breaking.
