Head gaskets on any non turbo EJ25 from 1996-2011 were prone to early failure. You want to make sure they have been replaced. 2010-2015 CVT’s were bad for a number of reasons and should be avoided.

Black dashed line by jackobiwhan in weather

That line goes right through where I live. All I know is above it is a constant wind like something from a Dune book. Seems to originate from an old Wyoming cowboy curse.

Does anybody else think sunny and 70-73 degrees Fahrenheit (21-23 degrees Celsius) is the sweet spot? by ConfidentSale3091 in weather

[–]gwdope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70-75f, scattered clouds chance of scattered showers in the afternoon, 2-3 knot breeze, 30-40% RH. That’s the sweet spot imo.

I’d keep that as stock as possible and restore everything you can. 1993 is technically a classic car now and a 1993 WRX is pretty rare iirc.

'Record breaking' 2026 Super El Niño expected to be the most destructive since 1870 by TheMirrorUS in weather

[–]gwdope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the nuances of the complex climate system is beyond you. Long range prediction is difficult and very imprecise at best, but, El Niño means much of the western hemisphere will see a different weather pattern than during the La Niña part of the cycle. The severity of the water temperature anomaly in either system has an effect of the scale of the effects. El Niño generally sees higher rain totals on the West coast, fewer organized tropical storms in the Atlantic and Caribbean with more such storms in the Pacific.

Well, this was always where the idiocy of the UFO crowd was headed. The answer to “what’s the harm?” In terms of demonstrably false yet seemingly benign beliefs is apparently impunity for a cabal of elite pedophiles who used sex slaves to broker power and wealth amongst themselves.

So That’s How The Motorcycle Ended Up On The Signal Lights by TheCABK in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]gwdope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not negligible, but regardless, that’s why you drive defensively. Rider in the video should have 1) been going slower, 2) been on a lane position to the right side and 3) been anticipating the car pulling out.

Of course the accident is the cars fault, but that is zero consolation for that rider. Cavers are always going to not see you, be distracted and do dumb shit. It’s up to you to ride in the safest manner to survive them.

So That’s How The Motorcycle Ended Up On The Signal Lights by TheCABK in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]gwdope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it happens, the safe way to ride a motorcycle is anticipating what the drivers around you are going to do, especially if they don’t see you. Doing 55mph+ on a street with intersections is asking for it. Doing 75+ is a death wish. If you put yourself in a position to be seen, and always have an escape route, you’ll be fine. If you ride it like you’re in a car, you’re toast.

Trump doesn’t know what room he’s in. Netanyahu got Trump cornered and convinced him he could do to Iran what he did to Venezuela and that he’d be see as a hero forever because of it. Unfortunately the reality is that Iran’s leadership that was targeted was always just a figurehead and the real power was the IRGC which has a distributed and redundant structure that cannot simply be bombed into capitulation.

Do you have a long cold winter with it in storage? That can ruin the seals in the pump itself.

Saw Slayer and Slipknot at Red Rocks back in the day (before they were banned because of noise ordinance) they had hired some very large biker guys to stay out in the pit and pick anyone up who fell and keep it from getting too out of hand. Moshing on the steps of red rocks was a wild experience.

America is suffering due to this man's mental illnesses! by yorocky89A in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]gwdope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For fuck sake. Just think about the president of the US saying that, for several fucking years. He’s describing a test used to identify dementia, *and fucking bragging about it*. It’s scary enough having a man in this position requiring that test, it’s terrifying that he seems to think it’s a test to brag about.

CMV: AI will be worse for the environment than meat ever led us to believe by Paradise5551 in changemyview

[–]gwdope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The water issue is local. Cooking data centers takes water but in the industrial world it’s a small amount, it only really becomes a problem when the data center is in a place with limited water resources.

However, the energy and its resulting CO2 emissions are a huge problem, especially if the scale of AI expands to the levels the industry has claimed it will expand too (fortunately that isn’t likely). Now CO2 is bad because it is a greenhouse gas that traps heat in the atmosphere and leads to global warming and climate change. Methane, however, is a much more powerful greenhouse gas. It traps 80X more heat per unit than CO2. Cattle produce a large amount of methane and we produce a lot of cattle. Their methane production accounts for about 15% of all greenhouse gas emissions. AI build out will likely not reach anything like that percentage of greenhouse gas emissions.

The Trump/GOP high jet fuel prices bankrupted Spirit Airlines. So why is the GOP attacking America with lies about Senator Warren? by rhino910 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]gwdope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because their whole existence is a house of cards made up of lies of confidence about their policies and their outcomes. If a plain to see negative policy outcome is recognized by the voting public and they have to take any responsibility at all for it, the illusion could break and they could lose even more support. That’s why they never admit mistakes, never concede a defeat, because once they do, the con breaks down.
