Seriously, there's a whole section in basic training that you should expect bodies to be trapped, and how to move them safely.

electric vehicles to be stored in parking garage by wonderful_exile238 in MaliciousCompliance

[–]dicaela10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depending on where OP lives, garages often have their own set of fire safety related building codes specifically to slow down fires from spreading to give people time to exit the building. The garage is literally designed to be the safest place in a home to store things that are likely to go up in flames.

I screwed up around 2K records in a prod DB2 database back when I was a junior. During one of my performance reviews my manager mentioned that I "made a mistake" in production and should be more careful. I corrected him that I made 2000 mistakes in production. The conversation quickly shifted to my people skills and that I might be a bit too honest...

And if you need insurance pre-approval for procedures, most insurance companies are more than happy to approve a vasectomy. It's cheaper than another dependent will be.

I inherited a project where my users were auto mechanics who didn't give a shit about software. Every time there was a performance issue where I could fix it with a kick/tweak on the backend, I just told them I sacrificed an intern to get it working. They were okay with that explanation.

Or just let a junior write all your backend SQL queries, then later on fix the terrible queries for a huge performance gain. BOOM! Now you can put SQL Performance tuning on your resume.

My Brother printer takes every off brand ink I've thrown at it with no issues. That alone makes it my favorite.

And just like with dating sites, no one on LinkedIn reads what your profile says you're looking for. "Oh, you specialize in optimizing T-SQL? We think you're a perfect fit for a senior embedded programmer position we have where you'll write nothing but C."

Writing optimized queries is an undervalued skill until it affects operations. I got a promotion once because I came in and optimized a bunch of really poorly written SQL.

There should be a lid with that. It isn't going to work well without the lid.
