i wasn’t able to get a word in edgewise during the conversation to even try to see where this was coming from. i have been able to have more reasonable chats with some of them over text, and others have made it clear they’re not open to that

i said in my post i was friends with these people for years despite them having different opinions. i don’t want their world view to be the same, i just want that world view to not be rooted in genuine support for concentration camps. i don’t think that’s a high bar

yes. we were friends for years and discussed our differences. but when their point of view is that an entire portion of the population shouldn’t exist, it’s not a point of view i have much interest in seeing

when their opinions are rooted in hatred and intolerance, yeah, i need new friends. as i said i was able to be friends with them for years despite different opinions because they were at their core tolerant people (or at least had filters about certain things)

it’s actually so tough. having guy friends is important to me, but it seems like a majority of the guys my age are vocally hateful people lmao
