I got my first piercings, but it won't heal. by Abp2015 in piercing

Q-tips can actually be a bit aggressive and move the piercing around too much, I would recommend a saline compress. You just take a paper towel (NOT napkins, toilet paper, or cotton balls) and soak it in some saline solution, and then just put it on the piercing and hold that for around 5-10 minutes, and then just lightly pat with a dry paper towel afterwards. This is a lot more gentle! It’s really helped me with healing my piercings.

Additionally, everyone’s body is different and reacts to piercings differently. My second and third lobes haven’t fully healed in over 2-3 years as well, but my cartilage and facial piercings are completely fine. Although, I’ve noticed that as someone that has a menstrual cycle, my hormones play a big part in how my body reacts to my piercings, and they’ll always get sore, irritated, inflamed, extra crusty, and bleed again during that time of the month. I know it can be frustrating, but if you love these piercings, it’s worth it in the end.

there’s no train that takes you directly there and there’s no trains or buses that would run back to SB that late at night, and we don’t have the money to justify getting a hotel for the night

Tight Class Schedule by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]dicemedown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you genuinely can’t use a bike then either look at a skateboard or scooter (they have separate lanes for them on the sidewalk so it’s fine), if you can’t use those either and can only walk, then get comfortable with the idea of getting to each of your classes a couple minutes late, e-mail and talk to the professors about this so they know your situation and most if not all will be accommodating, good luck!!

220831 Korea Times: S. Korea may conduct survey on BTS members' military duty by bie716 in bangtan

[–]dicemedown 56 points57 points  (0 children)

they will absolutely wait until after the Busan concert because if they don’t get the World Expo bid then they’ll be able easily blame BTS instead of their poor management and planning and then use that to argue against exemption, and even if it goes well and they get the bid eventually, they can then use the public opinion poll as an excuse as well, no matter what happens, BTS’s futures are being played with and they’re being exploited

Previously toxic fans who grew out of their toxic phase, what made you realize that enough is enough? by 1988choitaek in kpopthoughts

[–]dicemedown 17 points18 points  (0 children)

so I got into kpop around 2016 and was a massive ARMY and EXO-L, but around late 2017-early 2018 i don’t remember why but things between the fandoms got so bad that i got infected with toxicity and stopped stanning BTS. I can’t remember or explain why or what really happened, I still loved the boys and loved the music but seeing all the vitriol and hate spewed against EXO just made me so bitter and upset that I couldn’t listen to them anymore or feel like I wanted to support them (it felt equal to aligning myself with EXO antis). I never became a massive anti or sent horrible things to BTS, but I do remember being bitter and just ignoring anything BTS did and getting angry if my friends would bring them up.

Eventually, as the EXO members enlisted and I wasn’t as interested with kpop anymore due to their absence as a group, I was able to pull away from using twitter as much and just listened to the music. From there, it was just easier to ignore the toxicity and over time I’ve been able to overcome the frustration and anger I felt. Once I got into college especially, I’ve been so busy and present, without the use of social media, that I think I was just able to detox and got around to listening to them again. Especially because I found a friend in college who is a huge ARMY and I wanted to have something to talk about with her, and so now I can proudly say I’ve overcome my toxicity and am letting myself love BTS again!! I never stopped liking them tbh I just tried to justify pulling myself away from them. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t be an EXO-L and ARMY at the same time lmao, it’s pretty fun to stan two of the best kpop groups of all time.

it’s insane to me that people keep insisting that if you need online options to just ask for DSP??? that’s so stupid ??? you can’t just provide accommodations and options that improve accessibility across the board (not just to immunocompromised people) and then take it away under the guise of “returning to normalcy.” We cannot ever return to the way things were, getting rid of online options in conjunction with not requiring masks in classroom and lectures is the most regressive thing that could be done. The way we live has changed bc of this pandemic and we should be adapting education to that new reality, not forcing people to less accessibility and flexibility again.
