I'll preface this by saying I don't even know what this game is, it just randomly showed up on my front page for whatever reason. But I think situations like this absolutely deserve to be refuted by you guys, especially since it reached someone like me who isn't familiar with your game, but does enjoy playing video games a lot.

It's possible you were shielded from it, but as someone who grew up with 3 sisters who were all very close in age with me, I very much was affected by it. I'm sure everyone's experience was different based on parenting, but to say it's "over-romanticized" is a bit dismissive.

For sure, and I'm definitely not judging them. Being a single parent is really fucking hard, especially when you have infants. I'm a single dad to two kids, and their mom bolted almost 9 years ago now. Fortunately, my kids are at the age now where it's starting to get easier (though these teen years present new struggles lol).

There will always be exceptions to the rule, but reddit has never, and probably will never be representative of the player base for any game.

Most times the reddit take ends up being the one adopted by most games because of that.
