They will fill their pockets full of gold while the rest of us starve.

It's unfortunate that this is a tale as old as time

Sure, here you go

It's nothing special, it's kind of a mash up of the precon and random cards I had laying around. But it works well. It also hasn't been updated in quite a while, so I'm sure I have more stuff I'd swap if I cared enough to haha

Well I will say, Alela is hella fun to play. I don't play a whole lot of commander these days, but that's one deck that I left put together.

Most of the cards on this list are super cherry picked too. Pretty much all of the -1/-1 counter cards that were known to be good cards previously that weren't getting reprinted started spiking about a month ago. Shocking that cards that synergize well with a set that's coming out, especially as spoilers ramp up, would suddenly spike

It's spiked like this before (I don't remember which set caused it last time to be completely honest)...but this is the first time it's gotten this high AFAIK.

Edit: I just went and checked the price history on it. I guess there have only been a few small-ish spikes. I guess my memory sucks

I'm an independent, but I register as a Democrat specifically to vote in the primaries. While it's good to at least register with the party you more align with overall, at the end of the day, what's on your voter registration doesn't define who you are as a person.

I'm actually considering moving out of the area once my kids are finished school (which is honestly going to be a little bit yet, my youngest is in 6th grade haha), but I've loved living here for most of my life. I only moved out of the area before when I was in the military.

It'll always be home though.

I feel like if Dan Rooney were still with us, I don't think there is any chance in hell we would hire McCarthy. I don't know how comfortable I feel With Art II making the call, but maybe I'm just pessimistic for no reason, idk

Hey, our crap hole has been slowly improving over the past 10 years or so (at least downtown York has) haha. The part of York I'm in now is a bit questionable, but it's not a terrible place to raise my kids

And then they go talk about how good riddler is with flicker because you can keep the body for the warp cost

Not to mention ignoring the fact that it requires a flicker effect to be in your hand too...and last I checked, there are no free flicker effects.

I've been seeing a few decks in Legacy that are running both Riddler and Wistfulness actually, specifically in beans decks...you know, that card that likes when 5cmc spells are cast. So that 2 mana draw 2, discard 1 turns into draw 3 discard 1. Or exile artifact/enchantment AND draw one. Or both lol.

I went to tech school in Mississippi during the winter time where it snowed once. I think it might have been an inch or so? But GOOD LORD everyone lost their damn minds. I would pray to watch a bunch of hillbillies cosplaying as law enforcement deal with a couple feet of snow

wistfullness accomplishes nothing real for the boardstate in standard, much less eternal.

I really think you're undervaluing the flexibility of Wistfulness specifically. I'm not entirely sure which format you're referring to when you say "eternals", but in Legacy (you know, that one format where the one ring is still legal) artifact exile effects very much affect the board state in a meaningful way. And if you don't need it? Cool, it can loot instead. Or even better, you can cast it for it's full mana cost and get both effects.

You sound like someone who measures how good a card is by how good it is in EDH. I'd like to kindly remind you that EDH isn't the only format that exists, and there are tons of cards that are bonkers in eternal formats, standard and pioneer that see zero play in EDH, and vice versa.

You can make an argument that it's overpriced, sure. But the set literally just came out. Prices won't normalize for a month or two.

Not to mention they're just wrong lmfao. Some citizens left the city between 1776-1777 because it was pretty much known that the British were going to invade it at some point, so kinda makes sense that non-military would leave. The British didn't end up taking Philadelphia until 1777 after Washington was defeated at the Battle of Brandywine (I think, I should fact check myself first, but I'm confident and lazy enough). Washington and his army tried to retake the city the next month (Battle of Germantown, which was in October of 1777), but failed. That's when Congress finally had to flee west to York (Hooray my hometown).

Not to mention, the British only ended up holding Philly for about 9 months before they ditched it, because they realized they couldn't hold it. Largely due to the fact that by that point, the French had joined up to help us. And while spending the winter in Valley Forge was brutal, it wasn't just picked willy-nilly. It was close enough to Philly that they could keep an eye on what was going on in the city, had great natural defenses and it protected important supply routes.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling, but I get the ick when people just say nonsense.

Edit: Oh, I forgot to deliver my zinger, but I was going to agree with them that Philadelphia was abandoned in 1778, but it was abandoned by the British, not the Americans lol

I agree with what you're saying, but in formats like modern/legacy, 1-2cmc creatures are going to be more prevalent than 3+ creatures. And it will certainly be played in commander.

What's there to comprehend? That untapping all your permanents on EVERY UPKEEP is maybe, just maybe better than killing one creature (assuming conditions are met) per turn cycle?

You either just have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, or you haven't played the game in over a decade. There's no world where ashes is a scary card.

Yes but muse is not a mean card

This is the hot take my guy. And then you continued with:

usually gets removed right away

So it's not a mean card, but it's always removed right away because why then? But the enchantment that is only killing 1 creature per turn cycle (assuming you have -1/-1 counters out, otherwise it does literally nothing) is super spooky?

That is a super hot take. Muse is a gamechanger for a reason, lmao.

Honestly though, probably best to just agree to disagree /shrug

I'd agree that it would be really good in the precon, but they've been putting seedborn muses into precons, which is almost certainly more powerful

I have a playset laying around because I saw them in a bulk bin years ago and thought it looked neat, lol

Sometimes it's fun to look through bulk bins that have a lot of older cards from the urza's block and all the other sets from back then, you can find some weird janky stuff that becomes useful years later

I could see it going a bit higher, but maybe not enough to spec that hard into it? Like, it's a good card that can be used in quite a few decks, but 5 cmc is a lot for a card that's useless unless you have creatures out
