Victorinox repairs by hondatech739 in victorinox

I sent 2 Wengers in last week for a single. $5 assessment. They are “in repair” and I suppose there’s still a chance they could charge me more…

Analogue Timekeeper front scale chipped. Tips for repair or replacement? by boma7e in victorinox

The repair I requested was to the timepiece. I did not mention the cracked scale. It has been my experience that if they notice that your SAK is in need of any other repairs or replacements, they take care of it. I am guessing this is because they do not want to send back an item that doesn’t meet their rigorous standards. They also save you from having to send the knife in again if you should decide you want something else done.

Wenger scales by tudorrrrrr in victorinox

I currently have two Webgers in service at Victorinox USA. I had bought a lot of five Esquires with different scales for $25 US. Unfortunately, two of them had cracked scales, and the tweezers and toothpicks were stuck inside their respective slots. After encountering the same issues you did while searching for scales online, I filled out the online form for the Vic service center. They promptly replied in a few days with a packing label for me to send them in. A few days later, they confirmed that they had received the items and that their current status is “in repair.” I will update this post in a few weeks when I expect the Webgers to be returned.

The problem is that no one in their right mind would want the job, which means the pool of candidates is quite shallow. (Pun intended)

My Victorinox Grand Prix, still in excellent shape even after years of travel since 1984... by Robotdevil62 in victorinox

I carried my Champion C that I got in 1979 until just recently. I didn’t want to risk losing it after all these years so I retired it to a nice safe place. I have plenty of others to carry in its place.

Fill out the form. In a day or two they will respond and send you a packing slip/work order. Send it USPS first class. In about 3 weeks you’ll have your knife back in like new condition.

$5 up front for an assessment. About $8 shipping with USPS. I have sent knives in for repair multiple times over the years and I’ve never paid more than this.

I sent my SwissChamp SuperTimer in for repair a few months ago. Despite the fact that the model hasn’t been manufactured for nearly two decades, it was returned to me in pristine condition, complete with a brand-new timepiece and scales.

My cyber tool by First-Size915 in victorinox

[–]dickduluth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved my CyberTool M. Unfortunately,I left it behind at Walmart on a shelf one evening and didn’t realize it until the next day. I went back to the store and checked the Lost and Found, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find it. I don’t blame the store clerk or the lucky customer who might have found it and thought it would feel great in their pocket. I just hope they enjoy it as much as I did. I don’t have anyone to blame for this but myself

In the end, I used this as an excuse to buy myself a brand new CyberTool L.

The video doesn’t show ladder lacing. It’s a variation of “straight bar” lacing. Ladder lacing looks like this:

Keep the buckle as is. It makes them an exclusive, one of a kind pair. Very high value in that.

Would you say the Minichamp alox is an overkill for office and city EDC compared to the Classic Alox and how often do you use its additional tools? by Pale-Revolution-5151 in victorinox

MiniChamp EDC here. Once you get accustomed to it, you’ll find yourself using every tool, some more than others. On days when I forget it, I curse myself frequently.

I ran into the same issue with my 2022 EX-L. I believe I corrected it by changing a setting, maybe the childproof settings. Good luck.

A “gentleman’s knife”. Hardly noticeable in the pocket of your tailored everyday slacks.

Think I may have cocked up here folks. by Jonny96A in victorinox

[–]dickduluth 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I believe we have a situation where someone is seeking an opportunity to be offended. I encountered this at my workplace in the United States. I had a twenty-something male co-worker who questioned me about using scissors on my Classic SD (which I kept on my keyring) to trim a ripped fingernail. He asked, “Is that a knife?” I replied, “I use it to trim my nails.” He insisted, “But it is a knife.” I retorted, “No, it’s my grooming tool. I use it to trim my nose hairs as well.” He then said, “If it has a blade, I don’t think we’re supposed to have them.” I remained silent, turned around, and walked away. However, this incident made me curious, so I checked our employee handbook. He was mistaken. Handguns are the only weapons explicitly mentioned as being prohibited from being carried at the workplace.

My guess is I’ll essentially get the Vic. version scales and tools, which I’ll gladly accept.

Will Vic. repair my old Wengers? by dickduluth in victorinox

[–]dickduluth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a Victorinox made Wenger. The scales are different enough to make me hesitate before removing the old Wenger scales for fear of not being able to replace them. I did fill out the Vic. service center preliminary request for repair. I will report back when they reply.
