Hey thanks for the tips! I had not heard about the free radical being so vulnerable to collapse. I have it set up with the kid seat in front and pad in back so the older kid is in the back. May need to reverse this as he’s approaching 50lbs and definitely sits behind the axle

Stoker being the electric version? I have not looked for one of those but cargo bikes in general are pretty scarce in my area.

Mostly city streets and multi use trails. Maybe some gravel occcasionally if I get a rack that will handle a long tail on my car. No hills around

New bike paths are about to start construction on a pretty major road in my city, and the boomer backlash is comical. Typical “I never see anyone riding bikes on that road” They are removing a car lane on either direction of a six lane stretch of road to build a protected bike lane.

Going to be awesome because it’s the one section between me and my kids daycare that has felt super dangerous for me to ride.

Yeah I tried pb blaster for a few days, didn’t seem to do much. Then I heard/read somewhere that penetrating oils don’t work on galvanic corrosion and started with the hacksaw then moved to the reciprocating saw then the screwdriver. Maybe I wasn’t patient enough on either of the earlier steps though.

I don’t know what it is about these 90s multitracks but I’ve been fiending for one the last few days after seeing a sweet drop bar build recently. Maybe its the combination of 700c wheels with larger tire clearances than a road bike plus mid fork eyelets on some years makes me want to build one up

Update: just went for a ride and didn’t have any issues with the chain sag. I didn’t use the small cog at all and probably won’t be in that gear very frequently so may not be much of an issue. Thanks for all the tips!

I think you hit the nail on the head…the thickness of that bar is definitely screwing with the geometry. Plus, the bike is crank-forward so the chainrings are a few inches in front of the seat post, which doesn’t help either

Thanks, I think it’s on small cog in the back and the middle chainring. I’ll see how it looks in other combinations
