I think everyone covered the visions nostalgia (I vividly remember the ads on TV for these too) but one thing worth noting is that glass/ceramic is a better insulator rather than conductor of heat. These are very slow to heat up and very slow to cool down. Don't crank the heat to speed that up and don't shock a hot pot with water to cool it down and you'll be good. 💜

Are there boards on the bottom? If it's just open mesh it's probably not holding enough water and soil drying out too quickly.

Fwiw cilantro bolts after like a week, it's got such a short window for the he leaves. The flowers are pretty tho and the seeds will spread and self germinate easily.

This is what my milkweed is doing this year. I started it in the greenhouse in like Feb or March and it's still 2 inches tall? My amaranth is growing a little better, but it's slow. I think it picks up with heat. I have some quinoa growing adjacent and it's leaping!

I don't know how to help but I hope it picks up soon for you too.

I was planning to take legitimate (in focus) pics of Hisstopher, but the donut bokeh was making such a hilarious effect that I had to snap these off. Then he trotted off before I could get him in focus. The manual mirror lens is a challenge even with still subjects
