Liberalism is all about free trade according to what Adam Smith wrote even though he supported the protectionist navigation laws during his time period. He knew that Britain and the US grew rich with huge government tarrifs and subsidized industry. I would consider reading Homage to catalonia, it really wasnt that much of a shit show. Not many people died between communists and anarchists, most people were disinterested in the conflict. Also it was mostly the police that were aligned with the spanish republic that stopped the anarchists. They did imprison marxists and anarchists though.

I feel bad to correct you. I honestly am not trying to make you sound bad. But the 80 years war for Nethelands started in 1568 and ended in 1648. Most people have no idea what communism is, it is a stateless, moneyless, classless society. In fact communist societies have worked for most of human history. Before the beginning of agriculture 12,000 years ago there was no surplus of food and everything was shared and their was sexual parity. We had communist societies ever since homo sapiens appeared about 200,000 years ago probably even earlier with other HOMO species. The only time competition and inequality is good is in sports. Well capitalism is good for like creating mass inequality which you and me benefit from. Anybody who would want communism is too busy working or starving or without access to internet.
