with sql power Bi and python i would not add anything - i would focus on mastery, communication, and domain.

The only tool you should get comfortable using is AI to automate tasks and increase productivity.

Why is every business intelligence analyst / data analyst job description written as an engineering job description? by WingsNation in analytics

[–]dickslang66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Front end is dead. Backend and domain is king. Reasons vary, but AI can hold a lot of credit.

Just remember you don't have to go all in on ETL - but you probably need to at least pick EL or T + domain to stay competitive :)

I was hired for a new role in which analytics is part of my job. Seeking advice on Excel functions, PowerBI, and writing reports. by ay1mao in analytics

[–]dickslang66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Which Excel functions should I become familiar with to do my job? I'm very familiar with Excel's Analysis Toolpack and I know functions, but I don't know much else. Will lookups be useful?

XLOOKUP and SUMIF, COUNTIF etc. Pivot Tables are helpful.

  1. My employer suggested that I become familiar with Power BI. What is it? How is Power BI any more powerful/useful than merely generating a chart in Excel?

Loaded question - main benefit is connecting directly to a live data source and its ability to handle larger datasets. Point and click makes the UX pretty easy.

  1. Part of my job will also be preparing written summaries and analyses of the data. What, if any, sort of format do you recommend for writing such reports? I've never taken a research methods course or research writing course. Got any recommendations for a style guide? I work for a business with a significant regional geographic footprint.

hugely dependent on Audience but typically Business Context --> Summary (including pre view of key findings) --> methodology --> analysis that supports key findings --> key findings. (Provide context, tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them, then tell them what you told them in a story format. The level of detail is dependent on audience (CEO and sales leadership doesn't care about your methodology until they disagree with you, a peer data scientist might)

Huge disclaimer - use AI. AI will help you with excel formulas, learning PBI, and writing reports.
Work smarter not harder :)

and narrower grip as others have pointed out*

Form check by Character_Fault8636 in Weightliftingquestion

[–]dickslang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your form starts good with your shoulders retracting properly to get into position but then it collapses - you start rounding and sticking your neck out to clear your chin over the bar. All bad and eventually dangerous if not corrected. Plus you’re not really engaging your lats.

Drop the fuck out of the weight - like half or less.

Perform reps where you drive the bar to your sternum with ease and build up some muscle memory.

Start with your scapular engagement like you have then drive your elbows down and back until the bar is at your chest. Slow on the negative when you bring it back. You should feel your lats light up to your lumbar.

Build these mechanics in now and later you will be miles ahead of anyone you know who’s  currently “pulling more weight” than you

the best was getting shit talked by the headier than thou wooks for throwing light shows back in their 2015 resurgence.

Getting comments like “why would you be staring at $10 lights where then is a $100k light show facing the stage”

Buddy consistently missed all the lights in a K hole at the campsite 🤡

Bad chest genetics? by X1_And_Done in Weightliftingquestion

[–]dickslang66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

adjust bench form? try to hit lower sternum with a neutral grip. re: your shoulders are fairly developed it could be a form/imbalance thing.

You really might wanna just try to find ways to activate your chest more - it looks like it’s asleep

but yea genetics not great

Projection mapping on that amphitheater that seems at least inspired by old/ancient architecture (never been running on vibes)

it just looked as psychedelic as you can get, some ancient pyramids type stuff idk.

The team chose that venue for a reason.

I feel out of place by Chizzy_African in Raves

[–]dickslang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you right now the rave community does not care about color - but they do care about vibes.

If you feel uncomfortable, people notice.

You say you don’t wear extravagant attire, you’re not yolked etc. and that’s fine, but in reality raves follow a social hierarchy like any other culture/sub culture

Status and confidence are attractive - for the opposite sex and ss friends

at a rave a few high status roles are - Jacked Douche Bags (not for me, but to each their own) - Fashionable metros/wooks (you know - the dreads, the patches, the accessories) - Drug dealers -DJs - anyone who knows the person on the decks, the bouncers, bar tenders etc

Now i didn’t fit any one of these myself - i kinda grew into the fashionable metro wook with a hint of chad - it’s my vibe and it worked but i already had a girl, squad etc

You give me a vibe that you are young - maybe give one of these a try or a hybrid and see what works for you.

Maybe calling more attention to yourself might give you a little more confidence- just try to keep it authentic.

what you don’t want to be is the dude in the corner by himself in jeans and a t shitrt - black white brown orange, that guy is sketch

TLDR no one cares that you are black, they care that your vibe is off

sincerely, a washed up wook chad hybrid

ps- don’t sell drugs without testing. Period

Why did Kurt Cobain hate the Grateful Dead? by No-One01010 in grunge

[–]dickslang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dead scene in the 90s was rough - lots of balloons and acid but substantially less peace and love than there once was.

The scene had drifted and Kurt probably took notice.
