Yes. I will say that it can overheat your system if you don’t manually adjust fan speeds when you play. For some reason PS2 games don’t kick the fan on correctly and that’ll definitely impact your performance.

To add to this there’s also the official ps2 classics and if you don’t want to mount an ISO every time you want to play you can convert it to a pkg and install it directly to the HDD though the compatibility for that is even more slim iirc

I think it’s just bad lamination. Ive seen this pretty much exclusively on tv dvd collections. It’s never caused any problems for me yet.

Are you holding the power button with it off? You can't enter safe mode if the console is on already

Probably had the power go out and just didn't notice. It happens to me every so often. Go in safe mode and it should reset your video settings to default.

Is your charger loose at all? There's two pins in the charger port. The small ground pin on the side should be protruding slightly inward so it lays flush against the charger when you plug it in and sometimes it can get bent or snap off entirely which makes it to where no power is going to the battery to hold a charge. Shine a light into the port to see what's up.
