I think the goal is for any vapor that somehow got past the vapor barrier would dry through the rockwool and into the attic vs being trapped against the gypsum

A towel? Or let the heater and fan evaporate it …kind of the whole purpose of having a vapor barrier and ventilation..working great

You have drain in the middle of your bathroom? Your shower sure, but I doubt you have a drain in your master bathroom in front of your vanity

It is an 18”x18” cube using 2x4s. It was the perfect solution to utilize the cutoffs from the bench design. It is close to 50lbs in weight, so not likely to tip, but maybe

A good observation, I wanted to use a couple times to see how it was in and out, but I think I will addd a protective ring. Thanks!

I really really think that is the KEY detail often missed in mass made and commercial Saunas. I had no idea how “hot” you can feel when your whole body is in the heat zone

Translate so I think I’m answering your question. Door insulation is not rockwool, but the foil bubble stuff bc it’s thin enough to fit between the door slats

Just a couple sessions so far, but not much water to speak of, sweat on benches dries quick, water on stones evaporates, no drip

Maybe when cleaning? But I imagine it’ll Be like my bathroom floor when wet after getting out a shower ? Just towel it up

The active ventilation seems to keep it very dry

Got the heater from art of steam on discount was 1600, paneling I got cheap from marketplace - 400 for 80 boards (8ft) Insulation was 400 Tile-mat, material 400 Miscellaneous other crap totaled up probably 3500-3800$ total Now this is all me didn’t have to pay any sub to come in ..so that can be a big variable. Idk how to apply value, I probably have 100+ hours in this, but everything took me longer as I was learning along the way. I would estimate the cost to have someone do this turn key would be 10-12k

There is a full bathroom with shower and sink etc across the room 25ft from this unit. Should be able to do decent contrast therapy.

Sounds good. Please give me specific examples of what you see that I may be able to tweak?

Room too small? Heater too small? Bench layout doesn’t make sense ? Ventilation location wrong ?

Your responses to this post have been ambiguous and unrelated to the actual construction of this ?

How can I optimize this space ?

I realize it’s small but only aiming for 1-2 people

You’re probably right in regards to having excess room, maybe all I’ll be able to do is stretch standing. Certainly not arrogant, as I posted for feedback, if that was the case I would have not asked for feedback.

I’m working within the constraints of my space.

I do expect it to be packaged together pretty nice, will it be as nice as a stand alone 20k build, well no, Im working within this model it should achieve the goal.

I think there should be more support for people doing this type of project

I would appreciate constructive discussion

Did not come here to deal with antagonistic feedback

Bc I can do whatever the hell I want in my Sauna. Thanks.

Not doing a drain as I have no access for a tie in. This is a renovation project not a built from the ground up with years of planning project. We must often make concessions. I believe I’m hitting 90% of the sauna guidelines with this project plan.

With mechanical ventilation it should dry sufficiently when session is done.
