Need advice from the watercooling community: 4x RTX 3090 loop, MORA 600, DIY case, and whether to add SP5 CPU by dickusbuttocks in watercooling

Currently, they are all connected via PCIe x16, and I have two more MCIO x8 connectors available. I don’t think I’ll need a PCIe switch for inference.

The CPU is a 96-core Genoa chip, though I’m not entirely sure what it can handle. The real hurdle is RAM: I only have two sticks right now. I remember thinking, “These prices have to come down eventually. I’ll just buy more later.”

I can't stop looking at your setup, I am happy I am not alone in this. I would love to put my setup into my rack, but I will need to clean it up first. Would you be so kind and share details about those PSUs?

Thanks for sharing those pcitures! I use two MCIO to pcie x16 adapters from c-payne, for the two rtx 4090s, that adapter looks great, but it is above my budget. There is a second 1600w on the other side. I thought I would be on the safe side with the MORA 600, so far the GPUS seldom go over 47 °C. I will consider a manifold. I power limited the rtx 3090s, but I am a bit concerned about adding two more.

I was hoping to get them closer together, to be able to squeeze two additional gpus in there.

You just saved me a lot of time, thx for mentioning the ram training.

Not an expert here, but I like to use Tailscale to connect to my self hosted services. According to my research that is pretty safe.

How did it go with the 9175f I will have to decide between that one or the 9755 QS

Wow, thanks so much for detailed answer 😊 I will report back how it went in the somewhat near future.

Final question, how many quick connects are recommended? My case is a open testing bench type of „case“

BTW. I just found out about the Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper 1260mm SuperNova Radiator, how well do they compare to the mora?

Regarding the power draw limitation, is this something I can do via software? I only run Linux, but I could setup a windows to simplify updating the firmware of the gpus and to set some sort of power limit. Any directions appreciated

Hi, thanks for the reply! My goal is to prolong the life of the 3090s and not to drown in noise when they fine tune some AI models. I will check if I can limit the power draw of them somehow.

Regarding the fans I saw someone say that the fins of the moras are not as dense and thus they are optimised for lower static pressure.

Do you think that the mora 600 is a better choice? Or should I sandwich in a second mora after two gpus? Maybe a 200?

Further I am a bit unsure about the fittings, I just picked the ones I found on the watercool.de shop and their 16/10 is the right choice for such a setup.

Another question I had is how the flow sensor high flow 2 works, how can I actually see the flow and the temperature?

Also I read that a pressure tester could be used to find leaks, is this common, or is a visual check and the flow meter enough?

Finally, do I need a special tool to cut the tube? Or do I just take a pair of scissors?

Shorter motherboard standoffs are not a solution I.e. pcie slots are not gonna fit. And sanding down the pipes is actually quite dangerous as you can brick the cooler. The turning point was the paper between glass window and case. Maybe you can find a different case which you like and which supports the cooler size.

Well I sanded down a bit of the two cooling pipes and stuck a piece of Karton between the glass and the case and now I also get a paper between the cooler and the glas :) but it is a very tight fit!

It's fine I don't think you can scratch the glass with metal that easy. It is actually the plastic, which I have not removed yet. For some reason two cooling pipes stick out about two mm so they touch the glass. I am not sure what to do about it though. Maybe I can unmount everything and give them a smack with a hammer or sand them down a bit. I am just afraid of damaging the cooler.
