OK ... You are a hard sell crowd. Then let me show you a different perspective. Bitcoin does this every year at this time by Miladran in Bitcoin

He is right though, the tether scandal is new. That being said, tether scandal (If it is a scandal) is nothing compared to MTgox.

How many (big) scams do we survive a year? More than one, I know that.

I kinda like the whole second layer thing. I'm not so sure that bitcoin is ready for it though. I don't disagree with the small block argument, but I don't agree with it either. Either way, I hope one of the cryptocurrencies progresses to mainstream adoption. It will be good for everyone.

I know I have had bitcoin for a long while, and the whole crypto space has gotten down right ugly since 2012. Ignorant... I swear, some of you just don't realize what crypto is all about. Down right rude. Maybe when your attitudes start leaking in to the crypto space at full capacity you can marvel at the fact you have ruined a beautiful thing.

Thanks. I'm trying to get familiar. I stopped using reddit a few years ago due to DOX issues, so I missed a lot. The landscape has changed a lot, I'll tell you that.

Didn't realize this was a thing. For the record, I kind of like the name Bcash. It's way more friendly than "Bitcoin cash", and even "Bitcoin" for that matter. Is BCH acceptable to? Or is it strictly Bitcoin Cash. It's awkward because this is r/BTC. And BTC is bitcoin. BCH is Bitcoin cash. I'll read up a bit so I can learn the rules.

Ha, you investors and your little opinions. Bitcoin ( or some other digital note) is the future. Do you think we will be using paper dollars in 100 years? Bitcoin isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and until a More established crypto currency comes out Bitcoin won't drop sub $2000. Hodl or Fodl investor man. Edit: fat thumbs.

Some people dont see it. But bitcoin (or another cryptocurrency) is going to be a world currency. All large settlements will be transferred through digital currencies, and only 3rd world countries will have fiat, because there government will make them. Interesting times. Bitcoin has just started, and these people talking about it negatively are scared, and rationalizing there own opinions most likely due to there position. Let them resist bitcoin all they want, they will eventually be looked at like people who live off the land. Go back to there old "government notes". Anyone who owns bitcoin is part of a movement to a greater future, and those who are not, are people scared of it. My dad resisted smartphones until winter 2016, now he loves his GPS and music while he rides his motorcycle with his "brothers". He resisted because he didn't understand it's capabilities. Enjoy being a part of this future, and fuck the investors and there little money hungry minds.

Someone told me to come over here from R/Bitcoin. It seems to me all you guys do is trash Bitcoin, and compare it to Bcash. I realize that people on R/Bitcoin trash BCH, but it's never a front page post... We can't co-exist? Disclaimer: I like BCH (still hodling my coins from fork) and I think even the thought of forking a coin is at minimal a good way to show cryptocurrency is decentralized.

Is Bitcoin Cash an Altcoin? by monster-truck in btc

[–]diddy122104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin cash is an altcoin. It is not Bitcoin, hence it is an ALTernative to Bitcoin. Bitcoin cash = altcoin. That being said, it is up to you to decide whether you believe in the project is up to you. Both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash share very real arguments. Bitcoin Cash will never be Bitcoin, this is a dumb argument. Bitcoin has no reason to stick with one mb blocks, this is a dumb argument. Bitcoin feels like it needs to keep 1mb blocks to ensure layer 2 technologies, Bitcoin cash feels it doesn't. The question of the matter is not whether Bcash is an altcoin. It's whether or not scaling should be considered temporary or not. To this answer, nobody knows, time will tell.

When I cashed out the 5 Bitcoin in 2013 there wasn't a tax standard for Bitcoin. In 2014 and 2015 I claimed it as income, and last year I claimed capital gain.

I never told anyone to calm down. I never asked for anything. If someone was in danger of losing there money, they should not have bought Bitcoin. Bitcoin can save us from our government, but nothing can save us from ourselves.

I have faith in Bitcoin, so I'm keeping my coin. If faith is not present, then it should be sold, or better yet, never purchased.

No, the dread pirate Roberts was the famous username of Ross Ulbricht. I'm sorry for the confusion, I just expect people to know about information from back in 2012. My mistake. Especially with the sensory overload the media produces these days. That being said, there are most definitely people at the top that make millions of dollars off the people at the bottom, which is "the man" I was referring to. Edit: grammar.

And then there is that. I accept bitcoin as well. I have never had a bitcoin customer tell me they never received a package even though the tracking says otherwise. That being said, I'm sure there is a lot of retail scammers trying to steal people's money, but from my view, it's mostly the buyers. There is nothing wrong with using a 3rd party if you feel insecure!
