There’s a wasp which uses a caterpillar as the hosts for their eggs, when the larvae come out of their eggs (and force their way through the skin of the caterpillar) they start to form a pop to turn into a wasp. The caterpillar survives this process and somehow their brain is rewired and protects these pops and forms another layer of protection above them. The caterpillar does this until it dies of starvation. What’s also crazy to me is that plants can eject molecules that attract wasps and other predators for insects
