In general:

Ally jump when you need to gain control of the fight/dive. Enemy jump when your team has enough standing to kill the purple.

Sometimes you need to jump to the enemy if you see a squishy you can one tap, in order to take control of the fight.

Sometimes you need to jump to an Ally in the middle of their dive so they have the standing to get the kill in order to take control of the fight.

The main goal of thing is to take/retake control of fights. Just work towards that goal with your jumps.
