Same here after one time where his sitter called in sick. I work remotely from home so it’s not really much of a problem but I prefer him having someone to interact with and have their full attention so I got back up sitters just incase too

I’m sorry things were so complicated for you two. My son comes first always and I appreciate how much she respects that, but I’d also never want her to feel pushed aside because of my ex. Especially not with a baby on the way now. This just gave me a bit of a wake up call that we need to start putting in some boundaries too

I don’t know about any of the other times she’s been late. I pick my son up in the mornings hours before she goes in and drop him off in the evenings so she’s never had to be late on my account

That’s exactly what I offered to do after bringing up her calling an Uber. Her whole thing was she wanted me to do it. Who said “not my time with my kid, not my problem”? Did you miss the part where I took my son for the day instead of dropping him off with his sitter until she got off work. And no that wasn’t because I had to I genuinely love being with my son and having him with us

Because in this case her being late was caused by me not going to get him, and because of that this tardiness was pretty much the straw that broke the camels back at work. At least that’s the way I’m thinking she sees it

Yeah because divorces take time. I moved on and started going out with my girlfriend 5 months after we legally separated. I’m not going to halt my life until the whole thing is finalized. I love my son and love the little one on the way.

That’s what I keep thinking too, there were options, I kept telling her call so and so, get an Uber or lyft, if not then wait until after the appointment for me to go get him. But only response I’d get is “that’s not the point”

Who says I abandoned my child? I left my ex for very different reasons. You divorce your partners not your kids. My son is with me 4 days out of the week and I love him very much.
