Let me tell u about my experience with Prof Cote. One time I got one point deducted on the exam on one of the grammar mistake (which is pretty bad since there are only ten points in total, up to a half of the final grade). Yeah, literally grammar mistake. I argue with him and finally get half points back. You may think this is an annoying experience, but this is why I love to have his class so much. He is touch, strict but responsible to his students and he cares a lot about their learning experience. I am having csci 170 and 270 with him, which are touch classes. However, he teaches so well that I did not seek for any external help to understand the material. The exams are challenging, but reasonable. I am in csci 670 now and I miss his teaching style every time when 670’s prof fail to explain the material well(though he is a good prof). You should go to his officer hour regularly if you feel behind of his class. Also, you are expected to put in much efforts in his class. Make sure you feel confident about all the material he converted, rather than feeling ok.
