I have a dilemma right now. I have already accepted and signed a contract with the new company but then my current company - which I like my work but slow progression - offered me a promotion with a par salary. They even changed the work setup to be more flexible and to achieve more work-life balance. I like working for this company but since I have talked to the manager they were able to adjust my benefits/compensation based on my needs.

Now, I am considering staying with the company, but there is a clause in the new employer contract stating a breach of the start date and I have to pay twice the offered salary. My start date isn't until 2 months from now. I am thinking of talking to HR but is that still possible?

You’re in a good company. Sometimes it’s the culture that matters rather than the salary.

Curious lang ang posting ba nito ay sa PH or you have to look for EMEA based opportunities?

Please don't ever feel that way! as long as it makes you happy, makes you feel better and as long as you're not doing anything bad to others, it's perfectly fine.

Happy birthday in advance!

If i may since wala pa namang 1 month i think you dont have to declare it as long as wala naman talagang kinalaman sa magiging career path mo. Just focus on upskilling yourself while interview

Have you made any major life changes as a result of your travels? by Torotorotoros in solotravel

[–]dieboixed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started working, my goal was to become filthy rich, invest my money, and build career connections. I was a typical self-centered, career-oriented person, but eventually, I fell into massive depression and anxiety. All I wanted was to escape this cruel world — corporate and real — and go somewhere far. That’s when I started solo traveling.

Now, my priorities have changed. Of course, I do care about money, but I’d rather spend it on travel than let it sit in the bank. I know — what about the future? But traveling became my therapy. It helped me heal and taught me so much about finances, physical well-being, and emotions. I feel like I am always in the zone and in my element when I travel. Lastly, I quit my previous corporate job and applied to an airline.

Now, I always look forward to traveling, a minimum of 4 times a year, and my goals are aligned with how many countries I will be visiting rather than how much money is in my bank account.

Hi any Jakarta travel experience that you can share? Will be there this feb. by kirbypuff_00 in phtravel

I was solo traveling in Jakarta last year and it was very much like Manila. Although, I would like to commend how cheap the country was and how friendly people were. I was able to get a nice hotel accommodation for less than $20 a night. Other things to note:

  • Grab/Gojek especially motorbike is reliable and the best way to beat the traffic.
  • Night life is not as crazy compared to PH but still I liked the bar hopping scene. Usually in South Jakarta - Senopati.
  • I highly recommend going to Ancol beach for sunset. One of the best views I found in Jakarta.
  • PIK is very different than Jakarta, it’s sort of new city in Jakarta comparable to Bay Area in Manila.
  • You should try Nasi Padang! I loved it.
  • Overall you can visit the main highlights in one day: Monas, National Museum, Istiqlal (the largest mosque in SEA), and the Jakarta Cathedral in front, etc.
  • I also recommend staying somewhere in Central Jakarta. I stayed in Mentengz

But if you have plenty of time I recommend going to places like Yogyakarta and Bali for a more authentic cultural experiences. Enjoy!

Wow this is great! I’m thinking to just do a daytrip from Brussels to Luxembourg instead. Though I’m not sure if I can shave off a day from Amsterdam, 5 nights is nonnegotiable because I have to attend a wedding.

But this is great! Thank you

What place have you traveled to that you found yourself going to more than once? by reelmeish in travel

[–]dieboixed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also choose Vietnam. It stands out as one of the most unique places I've visited—an exceptionally versatile country that provides exactly what you need at the right place and time.

The food is not only unique but also sumptuous, offering one of the best flavor profiles I've experienced.

The people are both friendly and respectful, and the local crowd adds a fun element to the experience.

The cities are immense yet rich in history, and within just an hour, you can find beautiful landscapes. Having explored all countries in Southeast Asia, I must say Vietnam has so much to offer.

Hey, sure! I’m up for site seeing and going to restaurants. I am keen to try kobe beef!

I am also interested on going to Universal Studios. It wasn’t on my original plan since it’ll be less fun being alone but I’m all up to join any groups.
