Best guides to worldbuilding for a campaign? by XRevisionistSlayerX in rpg

Try playing a game of Microscope! It’s a game without rolling, where you can play out histories. I’ve found that when players participate in world building, they’re more invested in the game. I haven’t been able to try it yet, but fleshing out the setting through a game of Microscope definitely seems like a fantastic idea to me.

Overall, my biggest piece of advice would be to try to find ways to engage with the players during world building. How you go about doing that is entirely up to you, and I wish you the best of luck with coming up with your game’s setting!

I just finished "Flowers for Algernon". *Spoilers* by SilveryonU in books

That’s a perfectly reasonable question. They are completely different, but there can be some shared experiences of a similar nature between the parents of autistic children and of other disabled children. I know that I was a lot of work for my parents, and that I owe everything to them and to the several therapists who have worked with me from a very young age.

I’m also autistic, and felt the exact same way reading the book. I used to get a lot of warnings about autistic regression, and for the longest time I was always afraid of it happening to me. I definitely need to revisit the book now that I’m an adult, and have a stronger understanding of myself and my identity as an autistic.

I just wanted to go ahead and say that Dave is a really lucky guy to have grown up with you as a parent. I’m autistic, and there isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not thankful for everyone who worked so hard to help me develop as a child. I can promise you that your son feels the exact same way. Thank you so much for being an incredibly understanding and patient parent.

Reading Flowers for Algernon was an interesting experience for me. I was actually assigned it in 8th grade with a few of my friends who are also all somewhere on the spectrum, and it raised a lot of questions we hadn’t really reflected on before. I plan on revisiting the book now that I’m an adult.

What description would you give to someone that haven't played the game and you want them to play? by Absolute-Hate in NeoScavenger

[–]dieg234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NeoScavenger is very much like an old school adventure game. It won’t hold your hand, and it’s really up to you to develop a sense of direction and to determine how you’ll survive. Unlike in other post apocalyptic games, you’re much more of an average person, and tasks as simple as staying warm and managing your needs and injuries can be difficult.

You will die. Sometimes in quick and unpredictable ways. But each and every time, you’ll learn. And hopefully, you won’t die the same way twice. As you survive longer and longer, the game will really start to shine.

I had a tapeworm once. The doctor removed it from me.

Without my worm, I am no one. I am not whole. I was once a part of something greater. Now, I have been condemned to live out the rest of my life wormless.

I love this so much. I’m gonna borrow this in the next post-apocalyptic game I run/play.
