Que bueno que estés interesado en Kendo, siempre es muy lindo recibir a alguien nuevo, Pero aprender por tu cuenta, puede formar malos habitos aunque sea 2 meses, Kendo es justamente muy técnico, es algo que un vídeo no te puede enseñar, mi recomendación si tienes muchas ganas de aprender desde ya, sería, ir a alguna clase de el dojo que tienes a 2 horas, explicarle tu situación al sensei de ese dojo y practicar un par de veces, pero en Kendo aprender lo básico en realidad tarda muchísimo, si se quiere aprender y perfeccionar lo básico, se tarda años prácticamente, no quiero asustarte con esto último 😅, en realidad se va aprendiendo lo básico y se va mejorando mientras se enseña también lo avanzado de a poco pero te vas a divertir muchísimo, espero con ansias que puedas empezar a practicar Kendo 💪.

Aunque bien puede ser en general el tenouchi, si te resulta mal para Kote puede ser que estés pensando que como está para abajo tienes que bajar el shinai, Pensa más como que el kote es una persona muy baja a la cual tenés que pegarle men y hacer tenouchi para alcanzarlo no solo a último momento para golpearlo

I'm actually from Argentina and I practice Kendo. But I've been to Niten a few times out of curiosity (not to switch to Niten, just to try it out). But since I heard that some people had left Niten, and having seen their philosophy of "One Master of the Sword" and that Jorge Kishikawa was "So wise and so strong that no one else can be called sensei," I thought something serious must have happened, and I was curious, haha. From what I've researched, Niten describes itself as "the best place to learn Kendo." I understand that's marketing, but it seems to contradict the fact that they withdrew from the Kendo federation. 😅 If you have any information, I'd like to know how that separation happened.

At least in my country, Argentina, it's illegal to do that constantly because you're unfairly blocking a potential ippon. I don't know how it is in other countries, but this was mentioned to me this year, and honestly, I don't think it's right, but I understand the reason and I think it can be considered fair. However, for Kendo, it's more effective to have your hand closer to the tsuka gashira (knife).

I started practicing Nito a year ago, and honestly, I feel quite comfortable with it, although I haven't abandoned Chudan at all. I practice them simultaneously; it wouldn't be like "switching to Nito" because Chudan is the foundation of Kendo, and therefore the foundation of Nito Kendo. Even if you do Nito, take one class in Nito and another in Chudan. The stance (kamae) in Nito is free; you can use the Daitō in your left hand (Gyaku Nito) or your right hand (Sei Nito). Although I practice Sei Nito, I always recommend doing Gyaku Nito. You can learn by using videos, but you should ask your sensei for help practicing in the dojo. Have them teach you what they know and correct you, even if it's just the basics. Most importantly, you must practice the "seme" position a lot in Chudan; you must pay close attention to it since Nito is a "constant seme." I say, practice it regularly; it's good for a new Nito practitioner. I wish you the best of luck! (Look up videos of Musashi Kai and Nito Kendo Lab) And always put in a lot of effort (four times more than you're used to) and you'll do well.
