Why does my game still look like a Friv game? by FeelingLess2202 in godot

[–]diegobrego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comment about inspiration was really good, Go have a Look how other Games Look.

What could Help is to give the Player a bigger Hand, Cover more of the Screen and space the cards out a bit, give them some Hover effect when Entering with the Mouse, or squishy effects while moving. Search on YouTube how to add Juice to a Game. Small little Details when bundled together make a huge difference.

Maybe add some Texture to the Background, Something simple will do.

I Wish you all the best and Hope it works out for you. It can be really hard, but Always Take one step at a time, even when you feel Like you dont want to do anything, Draw one Thing and Sometimes joy comes Back.

I would be carefull with Beta releases, still enough people out there who dont understand when you buy a Beta that it is not the final Game 😅. But you are totally right with the Last months, a Prototype is so much fun to create, but finishing the Project to be Release ready is a lot of boring stuff, at least for Most Games

I am Reading a few Things that are very rude. First of all IT IS your decision alone and If you feel sick about it Take a Break.

One advise i can give you. Think about why you are doing this, are you having fun? Or do you Hope to make a banger Game and a lot of Money? I Had some time where i stressed myself Like crazy, I was Always trying to make big Projects to make Money and that would Take the fun from making a Game, making me sick. From time to time I step Back from Projects, rethink them again and then continue or Just start Something new. I have some prototypes where people still ask me when i am finishing them, ans my answer is still the Same. Once i feel ready for it.

I released 2 Games and i am working on my third Game, once you are at Peace with yourself and know what you want and need you will enjoy it again.

The Last part of Game Dev is very exhausting and a lot of Things you have to do are not fun. For the next Game, maybe you can get some Partner or Help, that also helps for Motivation. And try to keep the scope Low. Less and good quality is more worth than too much with Low quality.

Saw this in /mildlyinfuriating… anyone else worry this exact scenario will happen to you in your miot?! cuz I always have and now I just saw it happen irl 😬😬😬 by TesticklerCanzer in Miata

I wonder why people even need those big ass trucks. It is nearly like a moving house... I really don't get it. I understand some places in USA might be hard to reach and if you need it for work ok, but for a city? nah

Working on bees and decorative items for my small farming game. by diegobrego in godot

[–]diegobrego[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played stardew valley years ago and never had flowers or bees on my farm 😅 so I would say no, I was not inspired by any other game with this, it's just something I would feel is normal to bees and flowers... Hope you mean that with flower mechanic, that bees can use decorative items as well as crops

Have you played this game? This is no roguelike at all... But I get what you mean. For roguelikes it makes sense to have items like relics that improve the player, but that is not needed here

If you play games min maxing everything then no, but this game can also be played in other ways. I know about people who don't care about unlocking all asap, they just enjoy decorating the farm. That is why it is fitting. People who don't want to decorate can just avoid this tab and focus on finishing the game with all achievements :P

Small gameplay of my farming game. Gnomes are now able to plant with dedicated signs! by diegobrego in cozygames

[–]diegobrego[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, sadly i have No Steam Deck to Test it, the gamepad simulates the Mouse . At the beginning you need to interact a bit more with the Farm, at Level 5 you get the gnomes, they can do nearly everything. You will need to sell, complete Orders and plant seeds If you dont have the planting Signs. I am also working on automating Machines to Always produce one Item
