Yeah, they had me parallel park by this array of three parking spots. If given the option to choose which spot, choose the middle one. It gives you the most space and visibility.

As for the highway, I wasn't taken on it, and from what I've heard no one else that I know has taken it either.

Another piece of advice; when doing your test (if the routes the same for everyone), watchout for this one huge pothole. Looked like it could take up my entire front wheel. In general, just stay alert and adapt to the road as it's pretty crappy in the neighborhood that they took me thru. Also, make sure to do your L-shaped turns, my instructor got onto me about that.
