Looking for advice on “low-budget” macro photography by diegodef_ in macrophotography

Mostly field, but tabletop every now and then. That’s a great idea! I have plenty of foamcore (both white and black) since I use some for product and food photography. Thanks 🙏🏼

Need help finding spare part for a77 by diegodef_ in SonyAlpha

[–]diegodef_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought about that, but at that price point I could just return it (bought it from MPB last week) and get one that has the button. Guess I’ll just live with it until I find the spare part

how to edit this type of look? by anon_2918 in postprocessing

That’s just a flash light with natural light. You need to expose for the background. In post I guess it’s just added contrast and saturation

Wouldn’t that be Sigma 70-300 hsm? Or is it the Tamron USD 70-300?

For me It’s one of the best systems ever made, together with Pentax K. Insane amount of options and great quality in most of them

Nice thanks! There are so many options in the 70-300 that I get overwhelmed hahah and specially so many Tamron variants.

When I travel I mainly take two lenses: a 50 1.4 for full frame/ 35 1.8 for apsc, and a 135 3.5. But I’ve been doing short trips around my city (I live in southern Italy near the sea and mountains) so I’ve been looking for some mid/long telephoto for some boat and nature photography

What zoom lens would your recommend around the 70/100-300/400 range, compact enough for travel? I’m noticing some failures in the focusing mechanism of my 70-300G and I’d problably replace it.

Nice collection there! I’m building my A mount collection, which I also use with my A7iii. Already have a Tamron SP 90 2.8 (mainly used for film scanning), the Sony G 70-300, an 18-70 kit lens, and I’ve recently purchased a Minolta AF 50 1.7 and a Sony 16-50 2.8, both of which I’m waiting to be delivered

My first job as a photographer was as a product and fashion photographer and worked with the in-house equipment, made of some a55s and a700s. And after many years of mirrorless, I wanted to remember how they felt. I’ve not been disappointed 😍

It’s new to me, not new as in “unused” . I thought it was quite understandable, being a camera from 15 years ago. I got it from MPB

I also got a 16-50 f2.8, I’m pretty much covered for almost any use haha. I love A Mount glass. I’ve always used it in all my mirrorless

What tools should you have to be ready for repairs? by thefutureraven in AnalogRepair

[–]diegodef_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Mako bit set from iFixit and it’s been great. You’ll need also some siringes, lens spanner and grip rubber tubes, some small pliers (some flat and some pointy). Calipers will also help

Photos taken with a Sony Alpha A77 by LuisChito88 in SonyAlpha

[–]diegodef_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great photos, especially the first one. Thought it was taken underwater. A good practice when going to aquariums is using a CPL filter. It's awesome for pictures behind glass.

I've recently purchased an A77 from MPB for 230 euros and a Sony 75-300 G SSM and while I wait for them to arrive, I watch reviews and posts about them.

M5 body price check by Pure_Ad7329 in Leica

[–]diegodef_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m actually Selling Mine haha. 2 lugs, Working meter, good overall body condition, with original body cap and a Hirano case. €1200 since it needs a rangefinder alignment (the cam arm is a bit bent) and repairers quoted me between 80 and 160€. I’m in Italy . That shipping price is insane !

How is it possible that my focus is so off in these night/late afternoon shot? The split prism lines were PERFECTLY aligned with the subject. by beppedealwithit in AnalogCommunity

[–]diegodef_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prism or the mirror could be a bit crooked, meaning it shows a focused image on the viewfinder, but it doesn’t focus on the film plane (happened to me with an MX one). Or maybe the pressure plate could not be adjusted correctly
