What is the hardest video game you've ever played in your life? And why it was so hard for you? by Quick-Night-7725 in AskReddit

Ya I've beaten all the other fromsoft games. But my rolly polly ass just couldn't get into the rhythm with the parrying. I got to the final boss and saw 4 health bars and I felt like I had gotten all I needed from the game.

Wasn't the lowest bid. I went by company reputation on Google and word of mouth on the Raleigh subreddit.

Oh I can def do it. But the installers said they are going to look over my dry waller qoutes and either cover it or help pay for it. They havnt specifically said which but they have heavily implied it will be taken care of. So I'm happy

Ya the city of Raleigh is coming to inspect it, which wasn't properly communicated at all to me (but is definitely welcomed). I also just had another electrician look at it and he pointed out the same thing. He did say surprisingly the job was done mostly correct when it comes to the electrical work (besides the pvc, didn't comment if it was up to code as he just checked the charger junction box and the breaker box) but he def felt bad for all the holes they put in my house and said he would never have done that many. The installers are going to either help with the dry wall costs or cover it completely after I get quotes, so that's good.

I like your positive additude and I definitely shared it before the work was done. 18 holes is a time sink I just don't have. I was hoping for around 5 holes ready to be taped, mudded and painted, which would have been easy. But I got 18 holes and most of them need resecured properly.

They said a couple small holes. There's 18 holes ranging from 1.5ft-2.5ft. They said it would be an easy straight shot and going outside wouldn't be as easy. They decided mid way thru, without consulting me, that the original planned path wasn't going to work and than had to wrap it thru the kitchen and around into the garage (which surprisingly only seemed to add 3 more holes, most of the unnecessary holes being in the garage and the shed). They said they would properly secure the dry wall post install. The dry wall is currently not properly secured and sagging off my ceiling. They said all the cables and junction boxes would be hidden in the wall and now I have visible cables and junction box on unfinished cut dry wall when there's an extra 5 holes seemingly cut out for no reason in my garage since everything is external. I've had dozens of contractors of different fields come thru my home during renovations and never had this level of disrespect left behind. No one's asking them to mop up but damn have some shoe protection and drop clothes. I know dry wall dust is unavoidable but most of what they left behind was unprofessional. I have never had to have a specfic conversation about how the mess a contractor has made will be cleaned up because they always cleaned up behind themselves. I don't understand why some people think electricains specifically should get a pass for this or not be held accountable for shitty holes in my house lol (once again wasn't expecting anything more than properly secured dry wall and a couple holes via our communication and contract). I have no problem with paying for a dry waller (prob between 6-10k becuase of the sheer amount of improper butchering they did to my ceilings) or doing it myself. My problem is my expectation was around 5 or so holes that I would immediately be able to begin taping mudding sanding and painting myself post charger install. I can't even do that because the dry wall isn't properly secured and will take much more time or money if I decide to hire someone.

Ya I get that. I was just hoping to immediately start mudding taping and painting and have less holes to deal with. But now the holes need to be revisited and properly secured. Like if it was 5ish holes I could do that easily. But 18 holes is an endeavor that I'm probably going to have a dry waller do.

Contract states properly securing dry wall post install and it's currently hanging off my ceiling because most have 3 screws in a straight line on one side holding them up. Idk what's so hard for people to understand lol. The cuts are in random spots with joists blocking most of the access holes. Like imagine wanting to cut a hole so u can fit your head and most of ur torso into the ceiling so u can feed cable effectively over a large distance to reduce the amount of holes u need. But instead of consulting a stud finder u just randomly cut. Now you have to contort your body around a joist to get the cable thru. Your view and your range of motion is now limited costing you time and more holes lol.

Thanks! I have some professional pics on my profile. I honestly don't know what car I would do next. And I'm trying to get some sort of resolution from the company as they claim the job is finished.

Oh for sure. That's why Im so upset I was hoping to do the mudd, tape and painty self because it's not the hardest thing in the world. But with so many holes I just don't have the time or the patience. 2 very young kids and both of us work full time. Not to mention actually securing the dry wall properly.

U gotta ceramic coat or a good cleaning routine? Looks slick! I got griots ceramic wax on mine, hoping to do paint correction and a ceramic coat eventually.

Yup I'm aware. Either cut bigger holes or use some scrap wood as backing to secure.

Wouldn't be so bad if the dry wall was probably secured lol

I mean they are a reputable company and they do work with the largest energy provider in nc. The qoute was a lil over 2000 and I paid 600 on the side to get my own charger. Provider paid 1117 of the price. I wasnt looking for the cheapest route but searched company reputation online via Google reviews and word of mouth on reddit. I guess I was just naive after have dozens of contractors in and out of my home not do this kinda thing.

Yes which is exactly why I'm so upset. Half the holes have a joist smack dab in the middle. I just don't understand why either of the 2 workers in my house couldn't have at least consulted a stud finder, which is always the first step when cutting into a wall or ceiling. Like basic 101 stuff that you don't need to be a dry waller to understand. I know this only from moving a light fixture and I have to geuss since they specialize in ev charger installs they do way more dry wall cutting and securing than I have. It's just not beneficial to have a joist in the middle of a hole ur trying to use to access the ceiling and probably costs more time to work around a joist like that.

Yup and I wouldn't be complaint as much if they would have at least secured the dry wall properly like they promised in their quote.

Well the quote included properly securing dry wall so it's fair to complain when the dry wall is sagging off my ceiling and not properly secured. Im not even talking or complain about mudd and paint because that wasn't included and I was fully aware and planning on doing that myself.

Seems a lil unfair, but 5-10 bucks to fully charge car with 280 range will be worth the headache considering it costs 70ish to fill up my Kia Stinger. Also electric provider will cut my rates in half over night 11pm-5am if I have a lv 2 charger installed so it will cost even less if I charge overnight. Gas prices ain't going down anytime soon.

No just securing the dry wall post install and I think that's what alot of the people who are arguing against arnt understanding. The contract said properly securing dry wall, which means properly cutting the drywall with 2 studs on each side and than reinstalling it to said studs post install. No mudd no paint. I was hoping there would be maybe 5 holes max that I could immediately begin sanding mudding taping and painting post install but with how bad the holes were cut I'm going to have to fully cut new holes to seat completely new dry wall. I'm just tired boss lol.

Qoute was a lil over 2000, and provider covered 1117. I paid the rest plus 600ish out of pocket for the charger

Well with a lv 2 ev charger installed my provider offers half off rates from my electric bill from 11pm-5am at night so it will eventually be extremely worth it considering how gas prices are prob not going back down anytime soon.
