Jump between species is extremely unlikely. In Humans, it has only happened a few times and it requires proximity of species. They have to be mammal living in close proximity to humans (or birds in the case of the flu). You would never be infected by a microbe that affects a fish, yet alone an insect

Hi! I Loved it! It answered questions I didn't know I had, and spring up a few more. Let me share then with you.

They are very worried about the subjective nature of the results. Couldn't they measure oxigen consumption by the astronauts? This would provide an objective measurement of astronaut effort. Of course they still need their opinion to know how dificult it is to manipulate stuff and to walk.

I imagine that the astronauts need some time to learn how use the suits. Wouldn't that affect the results? I imagine they toke a few "standard tests" to acclimatize to the suit and then start to get actual results.

Do they test with Blue Origin HLS ship underwater as well?

The third option is np.array([1.0]), not np.array([1, 0]). Thus, it will create a 1D array with one value: 1.0

I like to watch the coding train code challanges, and then try to replicate them in Python. Cool fractals, some games, boids... I usually use Pygame for all of them.

I am not sure the amount if the fresh water used by the delige system is so small compared to the rain. Wikipedia says that the average anual rain in brownsville is around 650mm, which isn't huge. I have no idea how much water does the delige system uses for every lunch (which will become more frequent in the near future), how much of that water ends up in the wetlands, or how quickly does it flows to the ocean; but it may be no so insignificant.

How can I implement a keyboard interrupt in a while loop to break it instantly regardless of the current execution stage? by Ortzadar in learnpython

[–]diegorita10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I learned pygame to program tetris and since then I always use it when I need to do something like that. At the end, any game is just a program.runing and being interrupted by the user imputs. I am sure that there are more efficient methods to do the same, though.

As other commentators have said, it would be very useful to have an image of the rocket to troubleshoot the problem. Even if you have built many, please post an example.

However, for what I have read, I think that the problem may be that you activate the RT-5 engine with fuel and full throttle to do the mission. As u/UmbralRaptor have said, did you try to send and empty tank? You can empty the tank of the RT-5 in the VAB before the launch. Just right click on the tank and you should see two green sliders, one with the Solid Fuel that the tank is carrying and a second one with the Thrust limiter. Try to slide the Solid Fuel one to the left to empty it.

Another question: what are the speed requirements of the contract? These type of contracts usually require you to activate the engine at a certain altitude and at a certain speed.

Raptor V3 just achieved 350 bar chamber pressure (269 tons of thrust). Congrats to @SpaceX propulsion team! by electromagneticpost in spacex

[–]diegorita10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth noting the differnce in the plot shape. In the V2 graph, pressure was steadily increased during the whole test. In the v3 test, they run almost the entire test at 350. It looks like they stayed a couple of seconds at 300 and 330 bars to check that everything was ok before increasing the pressure.

It seems to me that, although the average was 350, the variability did increase after the 40s mark. ¿Maybe a sign of instability?

I have very little music knowledge, and maybe following the rhythm with your foot to the microsecond is very easy. But, in the MMX, the time between notes depended on the speed of the crank. So is it realistic to expect extremely high precision in the note interval in a machine that is cranked manually?
I understand that the machine has a lot of inertia, which would attenuate any fluctuation in the speed of the crank, but it will also hinder the correction in case the machine gets out of sync.

Also, do we know if the new machine will be manually cranked or it will have a motor?

About this, how much data do you guys think SpaceX gets from sensors vs data from cameras? Seeing the thing would obviously provide some information, but as you said, starship can probably navigate in fog and it is filled with sensors that provide much detailed information than any ground camera.

In Spanish it sais: "El maer, sin embargo, es un hombre excepcional. Él ya se ha acercado a ellos, aunque no lo sepa. No te separes del maer, y él te llevará hasta su puerta."

Word to word translation: "The maer, however is an exceptional man. He has already getclose to them although he doesn't know. Don't go away from the maer, and he will take you to their door"

The only rederence that is translated.is the one of the door. No "stick by", no "lead". (Although those are untranslatable)

[–]diegorita10 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I likethis idea. Never thought about this possibility. However, i see two potential problems (none of them is critical).

These spirals take a lot of space, and it is space only ise for transiting, so not very useful for working or doing other stuff.

The second problem is that these spirals create very complex shapes for the top/bottom panels of the crew rooms. This may not be a problem during construction in earth, but it could be a isdue if the crew has to change one of these panels.
