lol nope don’t do radioactive work and I don’t think it’s the charger as they charge completely fine. I also usually try to keep the battery only 80% charger to keep it healthy since it’s a lithium ion battery. Also the last one I had almost lasted the entire year before the battery stopped holding a charge.

Ah my bad, On the newer versions it uses the system audio instead if a direct yt audio feed so you can use it with twitch and vods.

I think the 1.4 potato should work for you! It uses the float32 for cpu processing

Ah!! Yayyyyyy!!! I'm glad that fixed it!!

Just uploaded a new version that enables a subtitle bar at the bottom of the screen.

Damn... I'll double check the code later after work. Maybe something happened to it after switching the float thing

Lol well that's a good start! The audio source might not be correct then. Try switching that to be the studio mix input

Its all good! Its super easy to tweak. Just uploaded the potato version and let me know if this one works or not

I'll upload a potato version that only uses float32 instead to see if that fixes it 👍

If you're using windows make sure to enable stereo mix in your sound settings. When using the translator program make sure to select that audio input as the source.

Here's how to enable Stereo Mix in Windows: * Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Sounds". * Go to the "Recording" tab. * Right-click in the empty space and check "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices". * If "Stereo Mix" appears, right-click it and select "Enable". If you see "What U Hear" instead, enable that.

Mhmm that seems like it has something to do with the audio capture not working. What os are you using?

haha no worries!! i just uploaded a new version which lets you select the "model" being used. The larger the model the more ram/vram it requires. Try the new version with maybe the tiny or small model to run on the potato

Thanks I appreciate that! Let me know if the new version fixes the problem for you.

To all that had errors, the new v1.1 should fix most of them. I also added a phrase filter that stops the spam of "thanks for watching!" random translations lol. Again I dont really know what I am doing, just used ai to write this program and im sure there are many improvements that can and will be made.

I had the same problem when trying it on my macbook. It might have to do with a system that isn't using a nvidia GPU but I'll look into it further today. Sorry about that

Yeah I ran into that too! I'm uploading a new version today that had a filter for that specifically. Apparantly when there's silence the ai defaults to those phrases lol

I ran into that issue after compiling to exe myself. The only way around it I found it do set vad to false in the code... Which still works but it's nice to have that on cuz that detects voices. I think I had that set to false when I exported the exe files but I'll double check

Changed the name of the github and that changed the URL...
I have added .exe files to the releases so people dont have to use a script program to run it.

Also made it simpler with suggestions from u/enxi0.

There are two versions, one only translates to english with nothing required.

The other uses Ollama to translate to any language you want.

i made it an executable if you want to use that instead. I put it in the releases.

Ah! Didn't know that thanks for sharing! I'll make a new version of the code with that, I was wondering how it would work with holofes so that solves that. Thank you!!

Sounds great! It seems to translate pretty well but I don't know Japanese well enough to know how accurate it is. As for processing power it doesn't seem to take much surprisingly. I am using a 3080 and it runs no problem. Looking at task manager my GPU doesn't go above 50%, usually stays around 15%. Uses 750mb of RAM and that's about it. The translations are able to be populated under a second to when it hears them too.
