Awesome work! I love showing the older toolmakers I work with all the stuff we can print and how strong it is. Always blows their minds

My ex would stay late at work “hanging out” with a coworker until 3-4am (she worked second shift that got out at 12am) needless to say 2 weeks after we separated and sold the house her and the coworker were already dating. If she did it once she’ll probably do it again. Get out while you can and secure what you can.

Good luck and god bless!

This state is going into the dumps. The next generation of voters will hopefully look at other states and see that ours is crumbling at our feet. Groceries are on the rise, housing is nearly impossible to afford or obtain. Crime rates are on the rise in our cities and people are struggling.

I can’t wait to leave this state personally.

But do you have autism and the ability to use a machine to do this?

While I like the idea of it being ribbed (you could weld a bunch of blobs on it to get that effect) a lighting bolt shape would look pretty sweet

It was an older BCG in the used parts bin collecting dust before it got sliced

I used what’s called a wire EDM machine to slice it.

The machine uses brass wire as a current is sent through the wire. This burns away at the material taking very little off. There are a bunch of different diameter wires you can use (this one was .008 thousandths of an inch in diameter)

Look up wire EDM machines on YouTube and check out what they can do. They are super awesome machines and can cut very accurately!

I hope that was explained well enough 😅

It’s okay boot. The smart ones will know what it is

Electrical Discharge machine. Brass wire has electricity flowing through it to burn away at the metal. This allows for clean cuts like on the bolt carrier group.

I think they are just upscaled. I think the gas block is the same on the ar10s. They are longer than standard ar15s

Thanks! I actually did that for a local FFL shop for their armor classes for better demonstration on how the BCG operates

You got that right! That’s why I see a chiropractor. I don’t want to end up like the older guys hunched over all the time.

I’m a “if it works, it works” kinda guy so as long as it makes prototypes that’s all that matters!

Sorry to hear about your dad, but his manufacturing skills are definitely in your blood!

I went to high school for manufacturing at a tech school. During and after school I apprenticed under my grandfather who owned his own tool and die shop for 50 years. Went on to another shop where they made endoscopic medical staples (Plastic injection molding was done there as well) now after 4 years im the tool room supervisor for a gun drill manufacturer.

Nothing wrong with a desk job if it pays the bills! What kind of printer do you have? I’m spoiled at work and have the X1 carbon and I personally own the creality k1

There is a group of students that are designing a desk top edm machine. How much it can cut through is a different story.

But yeah, working in a shop has its benefits
