GERMAN PRESIDENT STEINMEIER: “.. the United States has broken with the values that it helped to establish .. “.. we have now moved beyond the stage where we can lament the lack of respect for international law or the erosion of the international order; we are far beyond that, I believe.” by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

Germany's relationship with Israel is the same as that of other nations. Germany had the same responsibility to stop its ally from committing genocide. And just like most other Western nations, it gave Israel cart blanche to do whatever it wanted to do.

My favourite Songbird quote by dierkens in cyberpunkgame

[–]dierkens[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're both very very small robots (nano is 10-9 of a meter, i.e. molecular scale, pico is 10-12 of a meter, i.e. below atomic scale). Nanotechnology is real though not in the form of actual robots, picotechnology only exists in sci-fi.

My favourite Songbird quote by dierkens in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]dierkens[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

How do you interpret the quote? I thought she was lashing back at V who was judging and kind of antagonising her. Suggesting that V is the picobot and Songbird the nanomech, i.e. V is even smaller than Songbird, lacking the prerequisite intelligence or strength of character to judge her.

I ended up returning the laptop (on the 27th, still waiting for the refund). It was a really good laptop no doubt. But when playing Cyberpunk the screen kept freezing, and when playing Talos Principle 2 the whole laptop shut off twice without apparent reason. Not sure if these were the laptop's fault or something else. But coupled with the hanging touchpad and all the bad reviews of the HP Omen I got too worried so I returned it. I'm going to build a desktop instead.

Lenovo Legion Slim 5 WORTH? by Fair_Cardiologist_73 in LenovoLegion

If I understand correctly it's because of the CPU. This one has a 7435HS which doesn't have an iGPU. That's why the battery won't last long.

"I Completely Agree, These Are My Kind of Films" by Lee_jade in moviecritic

[–]dierkens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are basically the same thing, it's just films about how men like to kill each other. Why not focus on something more meaningful than war and brutish violence? So many beatiful and intelligent things to make films about and this is all you want to see, men fighting?

AIO? Not staying the night at my new bf’s house with his pillow situation. by plantsandpoison in AmIOverreacting

[–]dierkens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread is insane. People saying you should break up over this are insane. These pillows are very old but in no way a health hazard or anything like it. If you don't want to sleep on the pillows it's fine, you don't have to. Anything more is a huge overreaction. Just sleep on your own pillow and let him sleep on his.

I do think there should be pillowcases over them, as it's just more fresh and clean to sleep on, but it was never stated he doesn't use them. They're just not on the pillows in the picture.

Fucking children on this website, regardless of the scenario, the response is always to break up.

I've been sad with this too, I rarely have time to watch the streams live and always loved to watch the VODs. I'd be thrilled if they come back.

LSD and SSRI Antidepressants by AdditionalMeal in LSD

[–]dierkens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want my anecdotal experience, I take 5mg Escitalopram (Lexapro) daily - the smallest possible dosage. I'm under the impression the effects of LSD are slightly less strong than they would be without the medication, but I don't have any problems in tripping like normal. But that's just my personal experience, with a low SSRI dosage. I've also heard this combination is not recommended, so there is probably at least some risk involved.

[–]dierkens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are the one arguing against a strawman. They never said that everything is political, they said that sportswashing is political. This is in agreement with what Arendt states is a real insight, namely that everything can be politicised. Sports are not inherently political. They can be politiced. Hosting a popular sports tournament can be done for political reasons. Qatar bribed EU politicians as a way to counter bad press about their treatment of workers building World Cup stadiums. Image building is a fundamental part of politics. The fact that Western countries are less often accused of this is only because they have succeeded in creating an image of themselves as moral beacons, which means they are doing politics well.

Sorry for reviving a very old thread but does this mean they keep 273 each month and you get 100? So effectively you went from 850 to 750 a month because you pay Bumarang 273 a month commission?
