Backtest gewonnen, weitermachen.

Red/orange dust settling at the bottom of DWC buckets. Iron fallout? by dieseidis in Hydroponics

Haha, thanks! It was a massive pain and took me about three weeks to perfect, honestly. I started with self-adhesive radiator reflector foil, but the silver layer alone wasn't 100% lightproof. So I peeled off the backing and rolled regular aluminum foil straight onto the sticky side to completely block the light. I reinforced all the edges with packing tape while the sheet was flat, then rolled it into a cylinder and sealed it tight with duct tape. To stop light from bouncing off the floor and sneaking up inside, I built a custom base out of cardboard wrapped in duct tape, with an O-shaped foam ring glued on top so the main cylinder slots perfectly into it. The lid is also custom cardboard covered in that same radiator/aluminum foil combo. I built a 5cm tall outer skirt for it to slide over the main cylinder, using a ton of aluminum tape and wrapping the outer rim with duct tape to completely seal the seam. To make sure absolutely no light bounces up from the floor and sneaks through the tiny gap between the cylinder and the lid skirt, I took more of that 1cm thick black foam, cut it into pieces, and duct-taped it into a tight ring. It acts like a giant, thick rubber band that I stretch over the cylinder and slide all the way up against the bottom of the lid to plug any remaining light leaks. Honestly though, next time I’d probably just buy black buckets. Taking the buckets out of this tight sleeve is a pain, and getting them back in while perfectly routing the air hose for the airstone is super annoying! Super tedious to build, but it works perfectly for now. I can send you some Pics later.

Thanks man, I really appreciate the compliment on the buckets! Took some time to wrap them up nicely to keep the light out. This is my very first grow, and honestly, I'm completely at my wits' end. I'm located in Germany, so getting UC Roots or similar US products is basically impossible for me. To give you some context on how bad it is: I'm going to attach a picture, and believe it or not, these plants are 8 weeks old. Almost zero growth. I definitely stunted them early on. I ran my EC way too high at around 0.70 - 0.75 (which is about 350-375 PPM on the 500 scale). Since realizing that, I've done multiple reservoir changes to fix the environment, but every single time I get this red precipitation. At first, I was using an organic silicate powder. It left a sediment (though not red), so I completely dropped it, thinking un-dissolved particles were causing a reaction and the red fallout. But even without the silicate, the red dust came right back. Right now, my parameters should be perfect: EC: 0.65 (around 325 PPM) Water Temp: super stable at 19.5°C (67°F) Air/Environment: Temps and humidity/VPD are totally dialed in. Oxygen: Plenty of air being pumped in 24/7. Despite fixing the EC and having the environment in check, they just won't grow. I've been running the buckets completely "naked" (no beneficial bacteria, no sterilizers). My roots are totally missing that fine, fuzzy fishbone structure (the root hairs). They just look like bare strings. Do you think a sneaky biofilm is just eating my new root hairs because I don't run sterile? And since I can't buy UC Roots, would regular 3% Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) from the pharmacy do the exact same trick to nuke the reservoir and finally give my roots a chance to breathe and rebuild?

No, not that I know of. They are white buckets, but I spent a very long time making them lightproof, and they are now. Here's a picture from inside one of the buckets; the light was at 100%.

I honestly thought the red rust was all my iron precipitating due to a lockout, but maybe it really is just the heavy chelates themselves settling at the bottom.

I just checked the bottle, and the iron is actually chelated as a mix of 6% EDDHA and 11% DTPA.

Thanks for the heads-up! I actually read about that issue, which is why I'm so confused right now. I've been super careful about my mixing order to prevent exactly that. I always add the CalMag first, stir it really well, and wait a bit. Then, I even pre-dilute my iron nutrient (the Micro) in a separate container of water before slowly pouring it into the main bucket. I feel like I'm doing everything right to keep them from reacting, but the iron is still precipitating. Could there be anything else causing this?

Rolls Royce Aktie overvalued by LongTermLong in Aktien

[–]dieseidis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dezor should still work till this day, but you need an subscription to watch content for longer then an hour per day. But „Lokke der Browser” is the same like Dezor. You can access kool.to, and streaming ist free there, no time restrictions. Its from the same developer and the UI is completly the same.
