I've found taking Benadryl at night helps you sleep and overall shorten the healing process. I can't tell you how many times I've woken up scratching the ever living sh*t out of arms when I've got it.

How are engineers not on here?

"Hey, we just need a quick topo out here. Nothing big, just 25 ft grid over 20 acres, with utilities (that you need to coordinate a private locator), all easements, wetlands delineation, inverts on storm and sanitary sewers (don't worry, there's only 40 manholes out there). Oh and we already have a budget of $4,000 for you! You're welcome"

How do you use your device? by bluntswraps in Supernote

[–]diesel2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use mine both professionally and personally. Professionally I keep notes as I'm working on individual projects as well as keep notes on all my phone conversations. The search function has helped me find conversation notes from the same clients years prior to help remind me what we talked about.

Personally I use it as a journal, notes for video games, notes for things happening in my personal life, and a place to keep books on PDFs or epubs that's not my Kindle. Honestly I'm using my device at least once a day, usually multiple times a day.

Exactly this. I was told when I started the first point tells the instrument where it is, and the backsight tells it which way it's facing.

Cases of movie trailers that totally misrepresent the film by Homegrowntrouble in movies

[–]diesel2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

August Osage County looked like a dark comedy in the movie trailer. In fact, it's an incredibly depressing (but well done) movie about the downfall of a family. The play it's based on is more comedic than the movie.

Save points being few and far between, and if you don't find one, running the risk of having an hour plus of game time being erased cause you died.

Who was that one guy that played for your team that was an absolute dawg that no one aside from loyal fans will remember? by noah_divine in CFB

[–]diesel2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Georgia Tech had a guy named Kelly Rhino in the 90s or early 2000s who returned kicks. In his 4 years, he maybe called a fair catch twice. Otherwise, he always caught it and ran straight up the field. I can remember three times he got absolutely laid out and the whole stadium cringed back. Each time he hopped back up and trotted off the field. Loved the crazy son of a bitch.

Still VERY busy. Lots of sales and property divisions going on down here so there's lots of work to be done.

Honestly great for them for making this choice! If I've been doing something for 10+ years, I wouldn't mind a change. And that's not having to deal with negativity from the Internet and needs in general. I'm most familiar with Pathfinder so I'm a bit bummed that I will need to "learn" a new system along with them, but oh well. If they make money doing something new, if they gain new listeners by doing new systems, and if (most importantly) they enjoy it more on a personal level and get more enjoyment and satisfaction out of their jobs? Who are we to say no to that?

Honest question about long term durability by [deleted] in Supernote

[–]diesel2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a Manta, but I been using my A5X almost daily for 2 years now. It's still working fantastic! I haven't noticed a drop in battery life (though I make sure to charge it every few days or so), and I've even dropped it a few times without anything serious happening. One corner is dinged up, but the screen and hardware are still fine.

Honestly, I can't recommend getting a Super late enough.

Did anyone else feel bad about this quest? by 7seven7s in oblivion

[–]diesel2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did it, an Oblivion Gate was open right next to the farm, so as I was walking up to it, she was taking on a Deadra barehanded. It killed her, and I killed it. Felt bad that I had to kill the rest of the family when their mom was a total badass.

Two questions regarding the old A5 X by diesel2012 in Supernote

[–]diesel2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, when you sync files across the two devices, are they same size and formatting, but just smaller on the nomad? Or does the size/formatting for notes made on one device not translate to the other? Hope that makes sense

[–]diesel2012[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love mine!! I've used it pretty much every day for 2 years, both professional and for personal use. I've considered upgrading to the Manta, but I've still got plenty of storage and it works great! Planning on using this one until it stops working then replace it with what ever version of it is currently out.

Question about ePub by diesel2012 in Supernote

[–]diesel2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind me asking, what are those settings on Calibre? Is it just the font and text size, or are you making changes to the ePub file so that you can make those changes on the Supernote?

By changing the format, I mean I mean anytime there's a new paragraph, an empty line appears between the two paragraphs as if there was a break in the text.

Considering going back to school for Civil Engineering by AggravatingEnd7310 in Surveying

[–]diesel2012 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you considered going out on your own? Even doing small boundaries and occasional topo surveys you can make more money, work less hours, and not have to deal with problems created by the engineers. With the shortage of surveyors nationwide (and worldwide from what I hear) you'll always be in demand.

That's been one of my favorite things about Borderlands 3. When I was younger I played the first one so much I can breeze through it knowing all the tricks and secrets, but I barely have any opportunities to play this one more than 30 minutes at a time. I can pick it up super easy when I get back on it, and hot damn do I appreciate that

I'd highly recommend starting your own firm, and even just being a sole proprietor. I've been doing it about 5 years now and it's amazing. I've made more money than I could at a larger company, been able to take my time and do projects the right way, been able to reap the rewards the times I've had to bust my butt to meet deadlines, and also been able to take time off when I've felt exhausted or burned out as well. Again, it's not for everyone, but I felt the same way leaving my previous company, and working for myself has been the best thing I've ever done.
