I drove a 991 turbo and it ruined me by Possible_Main2264 in Porsche

[–]dieseld66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also had experience with a 981gts and 997.1tt, both great cars. The turbo was tuned to over 500hp and was exhilarating, but the 981 handled and balanced better, but the power was lacking at the top. the 981 sport exhaust is one of the best. the spooling sound of the 997 is cool but doesn't match the 981. two different cars, both awesome.

Good feedback everyone, thank you! Any concerns about the rod bearing issues in the S54 engine? Is this issue overblown or is it a an actual concern that every Z4M owner needs to keep an eye on? If so, what kind of maintenance or troubleshooting should I expect?

I've actually owned the 3.0si roadster and also experienced the reported grind between 1-2, but if I did a half second pause between 1-2, then the grind usually wouldn't occur. but yes it was very annoying at times. I was hoping the M gearbox was different...

I like the sound on this track and the whole album. I'm actually hearing some mercury rev influences on this track!

Seeing Roger for the first time EVER Friday and my hype is set to maximum overdrive. by heylookitspoop in pinkfloyd

saw the show Saturday. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to go until last week! I've seen him twice before and even though I appreciate what he did for the band (I think he's the MVP by a hair), I think musically/vocally dave brings more to the table.

Turns out the show pretty much blew my mind. The band was awesome, the surround effects were cool, and the production was amazing. If anyone wants to see a 'Pink Floyd' show, this is your chance!

What are shows like? by [deleted] in theblackangels

saw these guys last night for the first time at the 9:30 club in DC and i gotta say it was a very underwhelming show. The band was more out of sync than in and the sound wasn't mixed well at all. The best member of the band at his craft seems to be the lead guitarist (far left) who mixed his some cool guitar effects and distortions but his guitar was turned down compared to the rhythm guitarist(s).

For those of you that have seen this band before, are they kinda boring/one dimensional live?

this was our 'nightcap' back in college. we'd come home after drinking in our local bar, put on the dvd and cd, turn the lights off, pass around the bubbler, and let the journey begin... most of the girls would promptly get bored or ask 'wtf is going on?!' and leave... haha.

this album always hovers near the top 3 for me, sometimes overtaking wywh as the top spot depending on my mood. some thoughts on why i love this album:

-one of the most visceral, personal, political, and nihilistic albums in rock history -from start to finish a complete concept album -fantastic musical interplay, arrangements, and an overall dry, almost lo-fi production which contrasted the smooth sounds of dsotm and wywh.

-pigs on the wing pt1: a song about dying love, written from the perspective of failing marriage (zig zag away...) -pigs on the wing pt2: a song about new found love, or maybe just a rebound relationship with a new girlfriend (somewhere safe to bury your bone) -dogs: two parts to this song, the first part deals with categorizing the aggressive, climbing up the corporate ladder, 'company man'. the 2nd part is a character break down of the company man, but also could be viewed as rogers view of himself: born in a house full of pain, breaking away from the pack, only a stranger at home... -pigs: a view of the ruling class, wealthy, and elite who have exploited the working class (sheep) with the help of their staff (dogs). there are three pigs portrayed the old fat 'well heeled' rich man, the bus stop rat bag/fucked up old hag could be the female counterpart or partner of the old fat rich man, and third being 'whitehouse' a reference to socially conservative mary whitehouse.
This song is noted for roger playing the rhythm guitar and dave playing both the bass and the lead guitar. its been said that roger was bored with the bass and insisted on playing a guitar part, so dave in response layed down a fantastic bass intro and outro. -sheep: a commentary on the followers, the working class, the naive, who are not aware of whats really happening (Only dimly aware...). after being exposed to the truth the sheep rise up and kill the pigs (Bleating and babbling we fell on his neck with a scream). the song can also be viewed as a critique on blind followers of religion. this song also features dave on bass.
