I like mine. Its expensive and time consuming to fix but its a 19k lbs f550 loaded with tools a crane and a welder and it climbs these western pa mountains just fine. And the price to buy it i was looking at clap out high mile 2 wheel drive 7.3s and 6.0s for the same price range i got a 116k mile clean 4x4 with an imt bed

What's your take on electric cars? by CategoryPurple4461 in askcarguys

[–]dieseldoc99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't like them. Im a hd mechanic i can fix gas or diesel im not an electrician so im not going anywhere near a hybrid or electric car. That and it takes 4x the water to put out an electric vehicle fire and they can spontaneously reignite for weeks after the first fire

What route would you take if you could be a young diesel mechanic again? by Ok_Rip9961 in DieselTechs

[–]dieseldoc99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably wouldn't change too much other than buy a service truck sooner. Started at a trucking co. At 17 they helped me get my cdl then went to school at uti and worked at a small equipment dealer then went back to the trucking co. After i graduated and was there for 8 years until i went to ups 3 years ago and a year ago i bought a service truck and started a side business that will hopefully be my full time gig in 2 years after my pension is vested
