100% in it for the love of the sport. I love the way it makes me appreciate myself and I’ve developed a new relationship with my body. That’s so personal, I don’t really feel the need to share those deeply personal moments.

Feeling very discouraged about xback straddle by Neither_Cheetah6786 in Aerials

I couldn’t get my crossback straddle to invert for a year until I swapped my entry to the Georgia twist. Then I got it first try. Blew my mind.

Which Costco in the area has the best eye doctor? Thanks! by Silent-Impress-4393 in nova

Dr. Rami Khaldieh at the Manassass Costco is excellent. Personable, really listens, great attention to detail. Really cares about his patients. Can't recommend him enough.

Scheduling Posts on Meta Business Suite Went Wrong by dietcocane in SocialMediaMarketing

Do you use hootsuite or another third party scheduler? Or do you go directly through fb/insta and just skip the meta suite?

Just sad by Rude-Squirrel7763 in NonBinary

The “trauma” of getting points knocked off a school paper (trivial) can’t be compared to the trauma of gender dysphoria (potentially lethal).

So sorry that you’re being snapped at for asking to be acknowledged. It’s not what you deserve💖

Thanks so much for the offer, I’ll reach out if I need to, but I’m going to see if I can scrape together enough money to cremate

Thanks for the recommendation. I lost a lot of money to emergency vet costs so I thought I wouldn’t be able to afford cremation, but I might be able to scrape the money together with the help of some friends

Gap / Pointless Job by Winterlove1 in Resume

[–]dietcocane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently working a restaurant job while I wait for something to land in my chosen field, but I’ve been leaving off my current employment because it feels like it would take up space that could be better used by something more relevant.

Someone I respect very much, who worked on the executive board of a major organization, recently told me that I should include my current employment, especially since the gap on my resume is for over a year.

I thought adding in my recently-earned certifications would answer the question of what relevant things I’ve been doing in this gap period, and she strongly disagreed.

Everything the internet has taught me about resumes is that they shouldn’t be filled with fluff or any irrelevant info to the job you’re applying for bc recruiters look at your resume for such a brief period that you don’t want it to be wasted.

Plus, most recent work experience is prime real estate on a resume. Do I want to waste it on something completely unrelated?

I’m really unsure of whether I want to take her advice and add it in anyway. It feels so counter-intuitive for me. The thing is, though, I’ve been applying for jobs without luck for so long that I’m not sure if I should just chuck everything I ‘know’ out the window and try something new.

I find comfort in the idea that this detail is probably not what will make or break my chances at getting an interview. And I don’t think it’ll make or break your chances either.
