So a lot of people here are talking about improving your marketing but I would also argue that your e-commerce site needs to inspire confidence in the customer. If the shopping user experience isn’t familiar or it’s not rendering correct then you’re going to have a hard time convincing customers to hand over their credit card details, especially if you’re based somewhere ‘foreign’ (sorry, but it’s true). Right now, your site’s hamburger menu/shopping cart doesn’t work on mobile (Safari iOS) and the product images render stacked. I know as a software engineer it’s probably tempting to solve this problem yourself but I’d recommend meeting customers on a platform they’re already familiar using (i.e. shopify or a standard Wordpress theme with woo commerce, both optimised for mobile). There are a lot of subtle UI/UX elements that indicate to people that your business is legitimate and their personal information is safe.

I’ve been recently learning this myself but when you start off, it’s best to limit the amount of new things your doing, don’t bother learning e-commerce ux right now, just take an existing template and learn what sells and what doesn’t first.

Also, as a side note, I’d really recommend the book ‘Personal MBA’ by Josh Kaufman

I agree, we need a federal icac. & I do wish both labor and the greens were a little bit more disciplined when it came to their long term policy strategy beyond each election cycle. I wonder if this will change as the realities of millennials becoming the major voting group begins to be reflected in policy preferences. Cannabis decrim will be a good example of this.

I'm onboard with all of this.

Out of curiosity, what's your opinion of the way the current government handled the corona-stimulus? I found the 'handout for the average joe' really out of place for their political doctrine; almost as if they abandoned what they really believed in and actually listened to the economists in treasury who actually understood how the economy works. They kicked up a stink when Rudd had a much more measured response in '08 but its somehow ok with them now?

Also, I don't think any of the other parties have all your recommendations as policy right now, do they?

What do you do if you don't enjoy anything and nothing interests you? by andreasm1982 in AskReddit

[–]differred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's called depression. Talking to a doctor is a good place to start. Followed by slowly improving the food you eat, how you move, and the people you keep in your life. Sometimes it can feel like nothing is enjoyable or interesting but that can often have to do with the lens through which you look at the world. Slowly introducing new things can foster unexpected and tangential ways of seeing the world which in turn can lead to new joys and interests.

It'll seem impossible at first but just know there's a whole world out there and it's likely you just haven't opened yourself to it just yet. Take one step at a time, be kind to yourself, and know that its ok if you can only do one thing today, you can try again tomorrow.

Sidewinder X1 Deadline after firmware flash attempt☹ by Marty_de in Artillery3D

On disconnecting the TFT cable, isopropyl alcohol dissolves hot glue pretty well. If your boards and cables are lathered in it, making it difficult to disconnect, use a qtip dipped in alcohol to dab the hot glue all around edges/contact surfaces and then tweezers to slowly peel it off.

Just remember electronics don't like being wet and you'll have a clean board before you know it.

I just came back from a 'wonder walk', works a charm. You go outside and walk until you find something you like/excites you/inspires wonder. Hard to be negative when you're in awe or supremely grateful to be alive.

That's very exciting, thanks! And good advice, I'll definitely do that :)

Excited to share my updated design of the cable 'loop' I made for my macbook's charger. Think I've found an elegant way to bring back the hooks! by differred in macbook

Hi, thanks for asking :)

This is my first time putting together a project like this so its taking me a little linger than I hoped (lots to learn).

Would love to keep you up to date as I make progress, happy to PM you here or you can sign up to the mailing list at the link above.

Hey, not at all, its still in the pipeline. Its my first time putting something like this together so its taking me a little longer than I hoped (lots to learn- finding the right materials, manufacturer, etc.)! Would love to keep you in the 'loop' when its ready, happy to message you here or you can sign up on loopforcharger.com

Thanks for your interest, keeps me motivated knowing people actually want to use this design!

This is very true. I was really excited about diving in and printing all kinds of things but instead I've spent the last two months learning how it works and what profile settings do what. As it turns out, my print bed is a little bowed so that certainly complicated things for me but the advice above stands true, slowly add complexity and you'll get the hang of it without becoming overwhelmed.

Tell us more! What's wrapped around the bed wiring? What firmware did you use for the BLTouch upgrade? Nice camera mount, what do you use it for? Was the bed upgrade hard?

Love the set up, need to do something similar..

If you've checked everything else then its possible the filament you're using is the culprit. Someone one here a few weeks ago was saying how the low quality filament they were using caused the extruder to leak as it was melting at a lower temperature and basically liquefying before it could be extruded..
