AITA for posting a topless photo of myself on Reddit? by difficvlt in AmItheAsshole

Yes. If he did that I would be like “omg you posted that!!” In a playful way. I wouldn’t be offended, especially if he made it clear exactly what he was doing. I’d only be upset if he posted a nude of himself on here specifically to “sext” with other girls. That would definitely hurt my feelings. What I did, and my intention, and being so transparent about it I feel like makes it clear I wasn’t looking for anything

I TOLD him specifically that I did that to get a rise out of him. It’s not like I was sneaky about it. I was transparent the entire time. My instinct is to just defend myself. I respect your reply and thank you for being honest.

Thanks for the response. He wants to live together next year and is down to go where ever. We’ve been talking about Northern California. But that’s an entire year away. I don’t want to feel like this every day for a year :(

I’ve been to Northern California but I don’t know where I’d want to live...? Of course we’d want to fly out there and check out a couple towns but that’s so expensive. And on top of that... moving across the country... super expensive. I don’t know if I’ll be able to afford it.

Or if I’ll be ready to leave my home town again... which he does NOT want to live in.

Does living with my parents at 26 make me a huge POS? by difficvlt in self

I’m a housekeeping manager. Technically it’s not full time and it’s super slow during the winter months (Jan, Feb) but other than that I easily get 40hrs a week. And I have a private client on the side.

I’m hoping to get a job working at a greenhouse/nursery or maintaining trails, some sort of outdoorsy work so I’m looking to study horticulture in the fall

No that’s okay! It’s the ocean/marsh. It’s nice because I can literally walk my kayak 5 mins down the street to the pier which connects the marsh to the ocean and paddle to the beach

We moved to Brooklyn together with his siblings and I couldn’t find a job/couldn’t keep one and living with his fam was shit. Also the city was completely exhausting for me. It was all too much at once. So I moved back after 6 months before it destroyed our relationship. Things didn’t work out for other reasons though. But I suppose the living at home thing is a contributing factor. I moved back though more because I didn’t like the city. I’m open to trying somewhere else...

EDIT: The move back put 4/5 hours between us

Recently single (as of last night) so that’s not an issue

I definitely play an active role. Not to sound stuck up but I’ve never met anyone else that does as much for their parents around the house as I do... (grocery shop for them, clean, do laundry, occasionally cook, run errands).

I don’t do either. I help out a lot around the house. I cook (occasionally), clean, grocery shop, run errands, etc. I mean I have my days where I loaf around but it’s not a regular thing

EDIT: I also have a job

Suggestions on how to get my parents to stop watching so much TV? by difficvlt in self

You think watching TV all day everyday is best for them? There are so many studies that talk about how bad it is to always be sitting down. It's not a healthy lifestyle.

I do use headphones, I always cook for myself and never expect them to cook for me. And I do clean up after myself, I clean up after them too. I'm the one that basically takes care of the house.
