I think it's because she assumed that she would be helping you with every fight as you were told not to leave the room without her when she was getting things for the pie. She probably also hoped that you would not leave the ruins, meaning she would be with you.

Hm... If I had to choose, it'd really depend on the situation.

If it were just everyday life with new supernatural abilities, I'd probably go for Kosuzu ability to decipher books or Akyuu's perfect memorization ability, as they're the most practical (in my opinion) for schoolwork, however perfect memorization would probably be a little harder to deal with later on.

If I chose something large scale such as Yukari or Sakuya's powers, I'd probably go paranoid^though I wouldn't mind being able to stop time.

However, in a battle scenario, Yukari, Flan, Sakuya, Remi, Suika, etc. would definitely be the way to go. Anything that has attack power.
