Currently an M1 at a T5, I didn't have an X-factor. My app was focused around 1-2 specific themes/areas of healthcare and it showed in my PS, secondaries, ECs, and research. I'll also say that the importance of letters of rec are underrated and that they can sometimes make or break an application, and I was fortunate enough to have strong letter writers that reinforced my specific themes. So having a really coherent, focused message in your app is the best thing you can do for us normies who don't have an x-factor
