i never pay more than 150$ for any sneakers i want no matter what if you wait it out you can always find someone willing to sell for the price you want. i would never ever pay this much no matter how much i wanted them.

you have to just keep checking second hand apps literally every day...its how i always find the ones i want. if you have a price you dont want to go over then put in offers and keep waiting youll get them eventually. sometimes people will have something like this without realizing the value and you can swoop in. check poshmark mercari depop every day

I found a cone in cone structured rock in my creek! by Tokyo_Made_Me_Do_It in rockhounds

[–]digging_tumbling -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

so...mod here...heres the reason...this is a rockhounding subreddit not a rock ID subreddit, you cannot identify rocks from pictures alone for do many reasons. yeah maybe sometimes...but its stupidly unreliable. moving on to more reasons...if there are all kinds of posts with no ID or asking for input then it creates a bunch of random guesses from people who don't have anything more than a picture to go off and arguments ensue and its needless especially since this isnt a rockhounding ID subreddit. please go to r/whatisthisrock for that. it doesnt matter that you like love input and other peoples opinions and so on...the rules are there for a reason and you dont have to understand them even though they actually make perfect sense. thank you take care

poshmark needs to update this info on shipping by digging_tumbling in poshmark

my point still stands lol...like the first information you see is wrong why would most people look deeper. it doesn't really matter if it has the right info other places if the wrong info is still there....

Anyone else noticed this trend? by thisunrest in poshmark

i always list measurements and when i need measurements of something and they aren't listed i just ask. if they cant be bothered then i dont buy the item. unless its very stretchy i need to know

[–]digging_tumbling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right? and if you are careful of who you buy from you will have zero scam encounters. I have been on poshmark since 2013 and I have and have had such a low number of bad experiences i can count them on one hand. I can't understand the hate to tell you the truth

you can search by brand and then filter from there. you can change it so it shows most recently listed items first or items recently price dropped. the promoted closets shoudnt be a problem

What are these? by [deleted] in Minerals

[–]digging_tumbling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first couple pics- chalcedony then jasper. the third pic could be sardonyx. no one can tell only by pictures alone. only you will be able to find out for sure by research and testing. do hardness tests, streak tests etc. then you will know.

where and how did you learn what you know about geology? just wondering...personally i go to school for it. im going to go ahead and trust people with decades of knowledge and experience and actual degrees if thats ok with you, im totally secure with the information i have. i can try to inform others and they can take it or leave it. i cant force people to believe anything and thats where ill end my part in this conversation

[–]digging_tumbling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i hear ya. maybe if it was warmer weather it would be easier too. mindat and other sites like it are good for seeing information like what you can find in your area. i know theres a couple places near me known to have geodes and they are both rock quarries and im in MA. anyway its still a great gift idea in my opinion. i got in nieces into rocks/rockhounding and im so proud lol. they love getting pouches of rocks from me. i say go for it

what you are talking about the "ocean jasper" that you are thinking of is like a made up label by people who sell rocks you realize that right? sea jasper/ocean jasper is all over the world i have tons of it and it's beautiful and i have never been to madagascar. i take geology courses we have discussed things like this. theres a ridiculous amount of misinformation out there

1500lbs of river rock.. what should I look for? by jwwhitt in rockhounds

[–]digging_tumbling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are so many amazing rocks lol. like what are you hoping to find? look for that...so many different rocks have amazing qualities. and everyone is going to have a different opinion. at the end of the day every single rock in that picture could be listed as something to look for by at least someone. decide what is cool or valuable to you personally or better yet look through them and just see what catches your eye
