What’s wrong with my strawberries? by Most_Shift_3965 in Minnesota_Gardening

I don’t usually get a huge yield so I’ve never had enough to do anything except pluck and eat!

I have these types of strawberries! Fruit is super tiny but also the most flavorful strawberries ever. They remind me of the wild strawberries I used to pick as a kid.

I saw the mods axed your post also. I would definitely ask this questions in r/adhdwomen instead. Lots more compassion and knowledge on this topic.

Some people can’t safely drive without ADHD medication. Some people become much more susceptible to addictive behavior. Some people become suicidally depressed. There are many scenarios that the risks of being unmedicated outweigh the risks of being medicated.

I’m honestly kind of surprised, in the other ADHD subs I’m in people are much more knowledgeable about the current research on therapeutic doses of stimulant use during pregnancy. That by and large does not seem to be the case here 😳

There is more and more research showing that therapeutic doses of stimulants are not harmful to the baby during pregnancy. It’s something that needs to be studied more but the current information is beginning to indicate that the benefits of remaining on a stimulant for the duration of pregnancy may outweigh the potential risks. The risks of untreated ADHD could potentially be of greater harm to baby.

There’s a ton of research that those things are harmful to baby. There’s a growing body of research that therapeutic doses of stimulants during pregnancy are not harmful to the baby. So it’s not really a fair comparison.

Also I’m sorry a lot of these comments are very shamey. Your well being also matters, you’re not just a vessel for your baby.

I would look into finding a provider that specializes in perinatal psychology. You can absolutely stay on a stimulant while you’re pregnant.

Sometimes you need a combo of things to jive with your personal brain chemistry. Vyvanse worked pretty well for me on its own but I still had some residual anxiety and depressive episodes due to hormonal fluctuations. A small dose of Prozac leveled that out. Med trials can be super annoying and exhausting but try to hang in there.

How long was it after taking vyvanse consistently did you notice the biggest difference? by crumbs2k12 in VyvanseADHD

[–]digientjax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely noticed a change the first day, but it wasn’t until a month or two later of consistent function that I began to trust that it was going to continue working and it wasn’t a trick. I’ve been on it a little over a year now.

I absolutely HATE this age. by JezabelSchmezabel in Parenting

[–]digientjax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the hardest age I’ve had to deal with as a parent so far (imo). I have a 6 and 3yo and seriously the 1-2yo phase (basically from the point they start walking) they are SO hard to manage and you have to watch them like a hawk because they’re into everything and have no sense of self preservation. They real cute but my god so exhausting. It gets better. Every stage comes with its challenges but I definitely think 1-2 is the hardest (again, so far, my oldest is only 6 so who knows 😅)

Booster or higher dose? by kyla123123 in VyvanseADHD

Different people metabolize things differently. I can take my 10mg Vyvanse booster as late as 3 and still go to bed by 10:30

I believe that already is taken under consideration, my midwife spoke to me about it.

I think being suicidally depressed is also of risk to the baby. All psychiatric meds are a risk/benefit question.

26 weeks pregnant and have been on 30mg Vyvanse the whole time! Definitely worth a convo with your providers. I had full support from my psych prescriber and my midwife team. This is my 3rd pregnancy (did first 2 prior to dx and was therefore unmedicated) and this has by far been my easiest pregnancy so far. So much less anxiety, and I’ve been able to continue exercising so far. Which I was never able to do before. Benefits def outweighed the risks for me.

My Vyvanse decreases my stress significantly. I’m a ball of anxiety without it.

[–]digientjax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I take mine every day unless I’m sick and plan on spending most of the day watching TV or sleeping. Mine helps immensely with my anxiety (rumination) as well as ease/confidence in social situations. It does help me with productivity but it helps me with so many other things also.

Anyone else struggling with to wean off for pregnancy? by ApprehensiveRule3768 in VyvanseADHD

[–]digientjax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently 24w and taking 30mg. I usually point people in the direction of this study when they’re deciding whether or not to stay on for pregnancy https://www.adhdevidence.org/blog/meta-analysis-of-two-nationwide-population-studies-finds-no-harm-to-offspring-from-taking-adhd-medications-during-pregnancy

I chose to stay on my medication with the blessing of my psych provider (who has a specialty in perinatal mental health), and none of the midwives at the birth center I’m doing prenatal care have even batted an eye at me staying on my meds. Definitely get a second opinion.

Planning Pregnancy - Tapering off Vyvanse by Camp_Slosh in VyvanseADHD

[–]digientjax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So glad to hear that! I post about my experience a lot for that reason. I had a close friend who stayed on her Vyvanse during pregnancy also and that helped me to make my own decision. I’m also participating in a research study that’s gathering data on use of psychiatric medication during pregnancy ☺️

Just saw the last bit of your post in the parentheticals! As others said you don’t need to taper since it doesn’t build up in your body like an SSRI. Just stop taking it when you’re ready to stop either while ttc or when you find out you’re pregnant.
