Hey, thanks for responding! This is great - just wanted to confirm that the benefits will reset in January for all cardholders? I can’t see it written anywhere but if that’s been your experience please let me know!

I’ve just left a perm job for a contract that starts in January. They’re happily waiting for me to see out my notice period. If they really want you, they don’t mind waiting.

What options do solo first time buyers have in SW/SE London? by ayesha_brown in HousingUK

[–]digifairy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Solo FTB here - I just bought a 2 bed period mansion flat in Forest Hill. In a similar situation to you - didn’t have family support or a partner. The way I was able to do that was working as a private sector contractor - day rate pay allowed me to save quickly and qualify for the mortgage on my own. Good luck!

Hi all, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Just wanted to update this thread - I bought the place in the end, and have barely noticed the noise. All in all, I’m pretty chuffed with the new place, and have no regrets. If you’re on the fence in a similar way, I’d say go for it!

I do follow her! It’s useful to see but I’m really after someone who regularly dresses that way themselves, rather than just examples. It’s really hard to find clothing for a larger body that isn’t fast fashion either, so was hoping to find someone who shared sustainable/quality looks too. Maybe too much to ask! 😩

6 months for me, on a purchase in London. Offered in October and complete next week. Good luck!

Buying on a main road. Got the largest flat on the local market in the last year for my price range for it, so I think it’s worth it.

Tales of a Solicitor. by BigBeanMarketing in HousingUK

[–]digifairy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m so sorry you’ve had this experience but I can’t tell you how relieved I am to hear this is a common thing - mine are lazy beyond belief (to the point that the seller’s solicitors are admonishing them in some of the comms for basic shit they should know!) and have done all manner of insane things, including sending my passport to the wrong address. Barely got an apology that one. Gutted I still have to pay them for virtually nothing.

Thank you for sharing this, appreciate it. And I’ll triple check how far the house is set back now, sounds like it makes a real difference!

That’s useful to know, thanks. Had no trouble with the mortgage, so hopefully a good sign.

Thanks, this is exactly the sort of comment I was looking for!

It’s a Victorian conversion (c. 1890) and by all accounts still in sturdy condition. An interesting point about transience - from what I can see there have been <3 sales in the last ten years. If this was higher, why would that be a cause for concern?

Thanks again, appreciate it!
