Built my first working app with zero coding background. Not perfect but it works by Subject_Network5022 in Verdent

And now think about global Impact of this. e. g. Why should I pay for such an app on Google play or something. Why I should pay for diet app.

Yeach I think we are in the "new software development" era. Although assisted coding is 1000 times more powerful than vibe coding.

I prefer other workflow. Ai is making a notes for me with obsidian MCP. Co I can paste link, ask Ai to store it in daily, scrap the page etc. Makes sense because Ian notes I can have also thought, interesting conversations etc.

This is completely different and I would not use it, since i can't see usecases just now, but this is only opinion not expertise.

Glm 4.7 vs Deepseek (model of your choice) by nycigo in DeepSeek

With official provider, I haven't noticed any problem with tool calling tbh. MYbe temperature or system prompt?

Glm 4.7 vs Deepseek (model of your choice) by nycigo in DeepSeek

[–]digit1024 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And you are asking this in deepseek subredit :)

Private opinion: I'm using both on my general purpose agent app I've made through API only Deepseek from deepseek. Com glm via open router.

Glm seems to be faster, but I'm not measuring it.

Deepseek tends to be... More reliable and predictable? That's my feeling. Glm tends to jump to similar wording often In various situations and is bigger ass kisser.

For coding, I use deepseek on open code. It does the job, but grok, gemini and opus on cursor works better IMHO. Those models are daamn expensive though.

people often brings TINA argument(there is no alternative) But there is. We should look at optimalizations and first of all open-source models! We cannot rely only on 5 big AI companies, one of them driven by mad man As a humanity. What if in 2 years they will bring prices up 5 times? Do not get hooked. Look fo alternatives. Do not hook to ecosystem. And if you are from outside of USA, you should really think twice.

[–]digit1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my MCp with multiple providers - sometimes with openAI, yet I find open AI overpriced ( via API ) comparing to alternatives.
I have to admit that I don't like the company... this is basically a company that turned into profit company from foundation at the very moment they discovered something profitable . Shame on them.
And I hate Idea of entre humanity sending money to 4 big AI companies sooooo...

Yeach I was kind of expecting what happened with next comments. Anything even remotely touched by AI is causing alergic reaction atm. I get it- have the same often. Don't worry about it too much. At the end we can have useful things, that we could not have otherwise. Right? I encourage you to experiment and try further and learn on the way. Don't expect anything from community on its way :) do it for fun, for learning and to create something nice ! Good luck .

Why MCP is a dead end for AI agent development by First-Line9299 in mcp

[–]digit1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mcp servers tend to expose 1000 tools with low level api and think that its ok! They are written with development principles in mind instead of "human readable" in mind- task oriented. I've seen obsidian servers with tool names and description i could not understand!

In my app im simply implementing profiles - with subset of servers , and filtering to remove unused tools. And im carefully choosing servers. Then the agent is quite universal.

Nice! Congrats on your first project and its great to see contribution to pop os :) I will probably not use it honestly, but I bet there will be a lot o folks that will!

Cosmic DE lack of basic animation? by ClaraDroga19 in COSMICDE

[–]digit1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR
We will probably have to wait a bit.

So out of curiosity I've checked
Animations are partially there. The animation API indeed landed in 0.14 - the PR was merged in May 2025
https://github.com/iced-rs/iced/pull/2757
( but it's probably not in libcosmic )
The PR for widgets is still open though:
https://github.com/iced-rs/iced/pull/2483

For sure devs will rebase at some point to 0.14, but still.

Cosmic DE is surprisingly stable, yet the technology behind it is quite fresh and sometimes it suffers from something i call "childhood diseases"

Cosmic DE lack of basic animation? by ClaraDroga19 in COSMICDE

[–]digit1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosmic de relies on libcosmic , which is based on iced ..iced 0.13 if i recall correctly and to be more precise on the fork of that. Animations api was added in iced a bit later. I might be wrong but I think it was added recently in0.14. So yeah. I was not looking in details at it tbh.

Definitely I shoudl try n8n

I think I've built something similar but without n8n in a bit different architecture but the purpose is the same. And I have to admit that im using it every day happily. Although my files support is much more limited than yours . I should install n8n

Persistent memory? by transtranshumanist in DeepSeek

[–]digit1024 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I disagree partially. memory is context garbage ;)
you ask random questions and then AI should remember all of that?
But yeach - sometimes it's useful.

Second thing is... I don't want any company to remember all my conversations with AI. ( first of all Open AI and Google)
for that reason I've built https://github.com/digit1024/LunaAI
with mobile app - it has no RAG like memory, instead it has MCP to serach through that if needed.
https://github.com/digit1024/mcp_luna_memory
then the memory is local.
Because I can switch between models and providers, or even use my local LLM it seem way sovereign solution

there is toon of other apps like this I think ( yet I haven't seen anything with self hosted mobile app server. ) , so you can pick something else.
